First Time Driving From TN taking 75?

I just drove to Orlando from Chattanooga all by myself and was 12 hours because I ran into contruction in Georgia. It's not that bad. I went downtown Atlanta instead of Atlanta bypass becasue I don't like that curve.

I agree with your husband driving straight through will not be bad at all.
I think 12 hours with little kids might be hard. You drove by yourself with no little toddlers crying and without a whinny 6 YO drama queen. It wouldn't be bad if it took 9-10 but 12- 14 is really going to be tough. Thanks for your reply.

I'm not from TN but for 10 hours, I would drive straight through.

We are from IL and we stopped at about the 10 hour mark (we just take I-75 straight through, we use the HOV lanes since we aren't exiting anywhere and have never had a problem. Of course, we are from Chicago and didn't think the traffic there was any worse than the city traffic here -- actually thought it was way less!).

We stopped in Marietta, GA on our way down. I know it took us longer than 10 hours but we did several stops (with 4 kids, 11, 8, 5 & 2 at the time).

However, 10 hours is a good driving time for us to do anything in 1 day. That's pretty much our benchmark -- we stop when we get around 10 hours (you can fudge it a couple hours either way -- so if we hit construction and it takes us 12, fine) but anything more is too long for us.

Check-out Dave Hunters "Along I-75". It's a great travel guide.
