First time DL-er needs help...

DH travels to Ontario CA regularly for work and we (DD and I) are thinking of going with him in a couple of weeks. The thing is, he has to stay closer to Ontario. Do any hotels out that far offer shuttles? Or, how close do I have to get to Anaheim for a DL shuttle? Is the idea of driving from Ontario enough to scare a midwesterner?

Basically, I would love to find a hotel with a shuttle. Any ideas?

If you are talking about shuttles from Ontario to DLR, I seriously doubt it. If you have to stay in Ontario, then IMO you will be better off with a rental car. I grew up in the area but have never driven from Ontario to DLR, but would guess Highway 57 is the preferred route.

If you want to drive in the 7AM-9AM time frame on weekdays, there will be traffic. I do not know how busy Hwy 57 is along that corridor but in my experience every freeway is jammed in the mornings. IMO it would be better to get up and leave by 6AM and get to DLR and have breakfast there. Then return after 8PM if possible. Unless you want to fight the traffic 7AM-9AM, the alternative is to leave after 9AM. I would guess the drive is about 30 miles.

In a number of areas they have added toll roads and toll lanes in recent years, so you should check into that. I do not have any links for that info. If there is a good toll road option, then you might be able to leave between 7AM and 9AM and make good progress.
