Hey guys!!
I'm going to be heading to Disneyland in November and I had some questions. I live on the east coast so I've been to Disney World tons of times, but never Disneyland! How does the photo pass thing work there? And are there Magicbands like at DisneyWorld? And can I book fast passes through the app or is it the old system from Disney where you have to run to the kiosk and just get lucky. I'll be there for four days and it's when the Christmas decorations are up so I'm pretty excited!
Thanks!!!

You'll get more complete answers in a few days. Their new system (MaxPass) is supposed to debut tomorrow.

No magicbands.

Legacy FP still available (although redemption is by scanning tickets now).

MaxPass will be available for $10/person/day. That allows booking through the app. Same day only. Supposedly same rules as legacy. No booking until you are in the park, just an electronic version so you don't have to visit the ride kiosk to get the FP. Downloads of all Photopass shots is included with MaxPass.

Outside of MaxPass, daily and weekly Photopass is available for purchase, but no word if that will change when MaxPass rolls out.

Note that there's no luck involved with acquiring FPs, just good planning. The more popular rides run out earlier, yes, but, if you plan appropriately, you can get FPs for everything you'd want to do.
