First time Disney visitor - I need help picking restaurants!

DH, DD and I are going in December for the first time and staying at WL. I need to pick restaurants for 4 nights. I'm looking for table service restaurants since we will be on the dining plan. I'll take any and all recommendations. We don't want to do Hoop-Dee-Doo or character meals yet since DD will only be 1 year old. We are considering Artists Point since we are staying at WL. Would that be appropriate for a 1 year old? TIA!

Based on what you said...let's see...

Le Cellier in Canada - it is a great steakhouse type place.
Liberty Tree Tavern - I know you said no character meals, but this place has good comfort food.
Boma - if you are adventurous, do this for dinner, if not breakfast!

These are the top three that I can think of right now. I am not sure of your tastes! Take a look at the menues on allearsnet - menues

I don't know if your DD is just 1 or closer to 2, but my DD at 18 months really enjoyed the character meals.

In addition to restaurants already mentioned, we really liked Kona Cafe at Poly. Other people seem to really like Ohanas. If you decide to do a character meal, we really enjoyed Crystal Palace. DD is a Pooh fan and the food was very good.

I love Artist Point and it is fine to take a young child there so, yes, I would say it is appropriate. But it is not a kid themed restaurant if you are looking for that. It is also kind of "hollow" in there. High ceilings, tiled floors. Hopefully, she's not a "screamer" because it will echo in there.

Personally, I *loved* Citrico's (over at the Grand Floridian). It is upscale like Artist Point but a bit "homier" and it seemed a bit more child friendly there.

Artist Point is one of my favorites. Another favorite is Kona at the Poly.

I do think all the restaurants are kid friendly, never had any problems.

I do feel the resort restaurants are better then the park restaurants.

Epcot has a lot of good restaurants, depending on what type of food your looking for. Chefs de France is one of the better ones.

The Boardwalk has 2 good restaurants to consider Flying Fish and Spoodles both are very good.

I would recommend you go to www.allearsnet.com and then click on Dining then on Menus... and take a look at the different places. You'll also want to determine which ones you like are Signature Restaurants that cost 2 TS credits...
