First time cruise Wish Questions ???

Two wish cruises planned for this year. Live about 3 hours from port canaveral so want to stay at a hotel the night before. Where should we stay (Disney hotel??or closer), since we will have cars where do we leave the cars ? When do we choose PAT time? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I would stay in Canaveral and then just park in the Port garage. You could stay on property and then take DCL transportation, but I think having your car available when you disembark would be more convenient. You select your PAT when you do online check in 30 days before the cruise

We are DVC and typically stay at WDW for a night before (also AP so sometimes sneak into park morning of cruise too!) We live 2.5 hrs from port so WDW breaks it up. We park our car in port garage. Very easy. Enjoy!!

We always stay at the Hilton Homewood Suites. I've never kept my rental car, but they might have a parking program. I think there are some other good options right near the port as well.

We prefer to stay in Disney before cruise, even if its2 just to go to Disney Springs the night before for dinner.

Only 3 hour drive—I would just drive down in the morning. You can’t enter the port before your PAT and the earliest PAT is around 11am so you wouldn’t have to get up early to drive there on the day.

We live in Orlando and have driven to Miami for a cruise morning of the sailing several times with no issues. I couldn't agree with this more. Just make sure to avoid big cities during rush hours if you are driving on weekdays.
