I just wanted to post here... as I know you would all understand my excitement. After many months of searching and watching the resale sights, I finally bit the bullet and put in my first offer. Waiting to hear back, but the suspense is killing me. I will let you know how it all goes. Wish me luck.

IMO, finding the right resale contract is almost like a game. The game gets REAL when you're waiting to hear whether your offer is accepted, while you're waiting to get the signed agreement of sale, while you're waiting for closing, and while you're waiting for DVC to put you into the system. All that anticipation is sure to make your heart beat faster...

No kidding.... I've just started. This is not for the faint of heart. I'm sure this first contract will probably not go all the way through. It seems like most people take multiple tries to get one to the finish.

Most go through without problems, you really only hear about the contracts that have issues because people are looking for help with it.

Well that is great to know. I was getting the impression that many have snags.

Best of luck! Did I miss what resort you were making the offer on?

I have 3 contracts bought through the resale process with 3 different brokers and all have gone fairly smoothly. The biggest thing is to be patient, it takes 60 to 90 days normally, but it seems like things have speed up a little bit lately. We purchased in 2016 & late 2017.

Well.... as it turns out, I am second in line for this contract. Another offer was already made. So I'm back to looking.

Best of luck in your search and be advised majority of all the agreements between Buyer and seller go smoothly with The Timeshare Store, Inc.®. I’m sure that is the case with all the brokers who specialize in Disney so I’m sure you will be a member soon.

This was me...I looked every 7 minutes for two months. One day one just jumped out at me and I emailed an offer for 175 points at SSR. 25 minutes later I got a counter offer and accepted! Now we are just waiting on Disney for ROFR. It seems like its been forever and its only been one day.

It’s so funny what we do to find the perfect contract! I never turned on email notifications on my phone or brought my phone to the dinner table until I was looking for DVC broker emails :-P I checked listings sites so often that when I finally saw the UY I was looking for I had thought my eyes might be tricking me haha.

Thank you guys for your support. I really appreciate it. So, I now have an accepted offer on another AKL contract. It's not quite as good a deal as the initial one, but I'm still happy with it, and it gets the ball rolling. Pretty excited, even better, I don't have to keep checking the resale sights nonstop. Onto the next step in the process.

WooHoo!! Best of luck on this one. pixiedust:

Well, so the original contract came back on the market, and I was given first chance at it because I had previously offered on it. It's all a big roller coaster ride. I will feel much better when I have points in my DVC account, and can blissfully book my next trip.
