First Time Booking Questions!!

So my points just came through and I'm so excited, but now have a ton of questions! I've done a lot of research, but since this is all new to me, I'd love get some insight from you all...

I had a room and ticket package booked at Poly which I now canceled to use my points @ OKW in October. So now...

1. Where is the best place to order tickets? Can I wait until I check in and buy them at guest services or do the majority of you buy them online somewhere?

2. Are there dedicated sections of OKW that all DVC members get or are they scattered throughout the resort? If you can just direct me to a website where I might find that info, that would be great. I've already read everything on All Ears but I didn't see that specific question answered.

3. Anything else I'm missing? I was a pro at planning before this, now I feel like I'm doing it for the first time! Anything that surprised you on your first DVC trip that I might not be anticipating?

2. All DVC resorts are open booking for anyone. First come first served.

3. Start reading the various posts and you will be an expect in no time.

You might want to get your reservation at OKW before cancelling your other package. Oct is a very busy booking time for DVC due to F&W, holidays, and northern states having one week off school at this time of year.

It is going to be extremely hard to get a reservation at OKW in October this late. Keep your Polynesian reservation if you want to go this October.

Thanks everyone! I actually did make the OKW reservation already. Apparently I was VERY lucky! Only a studio was available, but that's all we need for our little family of 4. I'll check out UT for tickets.

Okw is so nice to stay at very roomy. No hastles getting tickets right at check in . You might get some a little cheaper, but often times it just appears cheaper because they didn't add taxes.

Undercover Tourist's prices are definitely cheaper than going directly through WDW...tax included.

I'm not sure if I'm reading your second question correctly as no one has really answered it, but in answer to your second question, OKW is entirely villas there are no hotel rooms. Search for the OKW Lovers Thread. You will find everything that you need there including a map of the resort.

We stayed at OKW for the first time in June and loved the resort. The studios are HUGE!! We stayed at the hospitality house section in building 14. When coming back from the parks we got off the buses at the Peninsular Rd stop and walked so we didn't have to ride through the resort, which takes about 15 minutes give or take. When we stay there next time we will probably request the Peninsular Rd area (buildings 27,28,29). We like the idea of being at that bus stop but within an easy stroll of the main pool. Of course though, everyone has their preferences as you can see by the many threads about requests for OKW. Have a great trip!!

Thanks butsy! That is what I meant. I wasn't sure if only some of the buildings were reserved for DVC. Thanks for the info.. I hope we get something close to the HH. That would be perfect.
