It's going to be my family's first time at Universal in October this year and we're staying for three nights at RPR.

I really want my children to see everything (ages 8 and 10) as we're coming all the way from Australia and I was wondering if anyone has any Touring Plan suggestions similar to the Disney World Touring Plans.

We'll be transferring another hotel in the Orlando area to RPR and we want to make the most of the three days at Universal. Does anyone have any suggestions on what time we should get to RPR on the first day in time to enjoy the parks but I don't want it to be a punishing day for the kids. I was thinking of doing all the shows on the first day and the rides over the next two days.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You will have plenty of time to do everything several times. I wouldn't do any shows the first day, lol! Take them to the rides!!!

you'll have plenty of time to do everything a couple times. check the times of the shows and do some rides then catch a show then do more rides. the times for all the shows are posted so you can plan to catch them and mix the rides in. Make sure you see Bettlejuice's graveyard review its our favorite!!! :thumbsup2

like the other posters said you don't need to worry. With the front of the line perk from staying on site you will have plenty of time. If your 8 year old is at least 54" you will be able to ride everything in the park. We always take the rides and shows as they come, by not criss crossing the parks they don't get tired out. If you need a break, bring something they can get wet in and spend some time in the curious george wet play area. My kids loved it at that age and would spend at least an hour soaking wet. As I mentioned on another post, go to the Horror and Make Up show. We avoided it the 1st two days on our last trip because of our 8yr old, thought it would be to graffic. But it is was hilarious and both my children said it was there favorite show. Mummy and Simpsons were there favorite rides at the Studios. Dragon challange and spider man were there favorite rides at IOA. They also enjoyed roaming around the area in Jurassic Park that that had the caves and rope bridges, don't remember the name of that place though. Hope this helps.

If you're interested in a "plan" the only thing I know of is a thread on this site giving people's personal experiences with their plan at US/IoA--especially WWoHP. You could search through the thread and find what people did last year at your time to come up with a plan. It's a sticky so it shows when you go to the US/IoA section of this forum. If anyone knows of any other way to come up with a touring plan for US/IoA, I would like to know this too.

With three days you'll definitely have time to see and do everything. I would start with the Wizarding World so you're not rushed there and get to see and do everything you want. Then head around and hit up the rest of IOA throughout the day. You can easily do everything you want in Universal Studios the second day and may even have time to head back to IOA in the evening for things you missed before. Then you can spend the third day cleaning up on any rides or shows you haven't gotten to, and take a slow paced, relaxed day to wrap things up. You can also hold off on purchasing any major souvenirs till the end this way. Browse around the first two days so you're sure you've found exactly what you want and go back to pick it up at the end of your vacation.

go to the trip report forum and read what is posted.

that alone will give you much insight to the parks and how others accomplish everything during the days.

i enjoy reading how others view the parks and rides.
you will how they tour the parks.
