First time at Universal

So after hearing many good rants about Universal, my best friend and I thought we might like to take a trip there this winter to see what it's all about. We have a "standing" trip to WDW over Labor Weekend. We would like to go in January to US. What can anyone tell me about the crowds over MLK weekend? Or later weekends in January?

January is a VERY slow time in Orlando - perhpas the slowest month of the year these days. If you're going to do Universal / WWOHP - you should be in good shape anytime in January. Presidents week in Feb is when it starts getting really busy, so anytime before that should be fine.
