Hi all! We are coming down in November with our motorhome to stay at the Fort. We have a 39' MH with triple slides and awning. Right now I have a full hookup site (I rented golf carts so I wasn't overly concerned about a premium location. However now I'm wondering if this site will actually be okay for us? They look really narrow on the YouTube videos I've seen.

Also, any things I should I know being our first time? Hints or tips you want to share? I am still confused about how you get from there to other places! LOL

Thanks in advance everyone :)

We just left today and from what we saw while there most loops had sites of varying sizes. If you're worried I would call back and have them note your rig size on your reservation.

Welcome to the Fort! I am sure you will have a great time. Are you going to have a car with you?

We are also going in November in the same size rig. Did you give your size and number of slides when you booked? You could call back and ask to make sure you will fit in the full hookup.

We opted for a premium loop so we would have room to spread out.

This will be our first time as well, but we visited last year to get a feel for it and some information. I know there is a ferry to the MK, and buses to all the other parks and DTD. The internal bus system is easy to use and it will take you to the Marina or to the pick up for the buses to the other parks (forget what it is called).

That's about all I know....

Howdy jmrothermel,,!!

While all of the sites vary in size , most of them tend to be small,,but a well seasoned RV'er can get in in their site with a little patience.

Here's my tip,,(by the rules, you can park one car on your site) ,,we too always have a buggy when at the Fort, so after we set up camp we park our truck in the parking lot at the check in and use our buggy to get around. It makes a site look better not hav'n a track/car , it makes for more room on the site, and if you want to leave property, you'd still havta drive to the front to leave anyways so your truck/car is already there .

Ya'll are gonna hava AWESOME time :wizard:

LET'S GO FISH'N !!!!

Chief - no vehicle, just the golf carts (2).

I did give the size of our rig when I booked as the fact that its a triple slide - she also told me that they won't put me in a bigger space just because I have a bigger motorhome, that basically if we don't fit it's our problem.

I can't wait - I am so excited!!

I am 38' with only 2 slides. I have been in premium, preferred and full hookup. The premium site was much bigger, huge concrete pad. But the full hookup and preferred where fine as well. To maximize "patio" space when I pulled into the full hookup and preferred I stayed as far to the edge of the pad as my slides allowed me to and backed in until my jacks could still hit the concrete rather then the sand/shell on the rear of the coach. With that it left me lots of room on the patio are and could park 2 carts in front of the RV without issues.

Between this and the new rule supposedly about no tents on premium sites, I'm beginning to wonder what is happening at Disney... I'm not feeling the magic tonight!

We put our 38' motorhome with opposing slides on a full hook-up site without a problem. Some preferred sites are much tougher to get in than the full hook-up. Sometimes the position on the loop and the side of the road make one site easier than another. As with any campground, some sites are easier than others! You will, more than likely, get in with minimal difficulty and you will have a wonderful time. After one visit you'll have a better feel for what loop and which site(s) will work best for you. Don't stress in advance........

Have Fun . You will be fine on a full hook-up!(think of all the money your saving!):cool1:We had a 38 ft MH and put a tent out back for X-MAS stuff and clothes belonging to our guests! Gave them more room in MH:thumbsup2

We have a 40' with slides on both sides and awning. We visit the fort about 3 times a year and usually stay in Premium sites. We have had a few occasions when we pulled up to the assigned site and DH decided that for some reason another empty site in the same loop would fit us better. I immediately called the front desk at the fort and both times this happened they told us to take the "new" site. We then hooked up and went to the front desk with our key cards and exchanged them for cards with the "new" site number. If your site is not just right for you or your rig when you arrive and there is a better fit in the same loop, try calling the front desk for a swap. That person you spoke with who said if you don't fit it's your problem just makes reservations for resorts, and probably has never been to FW or even in a camper. The CM at the fort always try to keep the magic going, and I think they do a great job.

That is the number I used when I called and asked for a site change. 407-824-2900. It was actually a CM (the people that clean the sites up before we arrive) who gave us advice to call and ask for the change. He then helped direct us into the newly assigned site. More Disney magic!

We measure 50' when hooked up to our van and have no problem fitting both while hooked up on a premium site. The sites we've had in the premium sections have always been plenty big and spacious. You won't have a problem. :)

Thank you everyone for all your help, and the tip about seeing an empty more accessible space is very helpful!

We arrived last year at our assigned site only to find an unidentified car parked there. There was a nearby site that was empty. I called the front desk and told them about the parked car and gave them the number of the empty site. They put me on hold for a minute or so, and then told me to go ahead and park in the empty site. No problem.....works for us.....after all they don't call it the Magic Kingdom for nothing. :wizard:
