Requested a water view and also to be "close to things". Have some knee issues. Would appreciate anyone sharing their experiences with this resort. Only stayed at the All Star's before this.

DW and I stayed there a number of years ago. We also had a "water view" when we got to the room it looked out on a pool! when we asked the porter., he told us that the pool had water in it, thus, a water view..
Was not amused, but we didn't complain, as we were only in the room after the parks anyway and too tired to look at the water!
Wow, I just got that, so Sue, if she is married, is lott's wife!
Anyway, we liked the POFQ and had actually stayed there before the name change, many years ago. we liked it as we had rented a car, and could either drive to the parks or take a bus, and it seemed very "central" to all the attraction, plus it was Disney "inexpensive"
The water view could also be along the river, which is at the far end of the resort and not closer to the main buildings and bus stop, if you are concerned about that.
We usually stay at Deluxes but tried POFQ on one trip a few years ago. We enjoyed it very much. It's the smallest resort so it's very easy to get around. The water view is not much. For most, it will be a pool view. The buildings do not sit that close to the "river" so even those that have a river view will not be that great. The rooms do not have balconies so unless you are standing at your window, you aren't going to see much anyway. There may be a few buildings that would look at the parking lot but most of the buildings have courtyard views and there were fountains in each of the courtyards with nice walkways.
The buildings each have 3 floors. I don't remember if they had elevators as we are stairs people. If they did have elevators, they were not conveniently located.
The layout is nice. Everything is fairly close to the food court and the bus stop and the pool as these things are centrally located. There is a separate hot tub area also. It was very quiet there as most of the people staying there were adults--not many children wandering around.
There is a boat stop for DTD from the resort which was a nice relaxing ride.
It was a lovely walk over to POR also.
Having never stayed at any of the other mods, I don't know how it compares but I thought it was okay. My DH, who disagrees with my need to stay at deluxes, thought this was a very nice resort and he would definitely stay at it again.
We stayed there in feb. and loved it so much we haven't even looked at staying anywhere else for next years trip. It has very beautiful grounds to walk around on and was really quiet. Every night there are carriage rides and that just adds to the ambience. We stayed in building 6 and had, maybe, a 3-4 minute walk to the food court. And about the same to the bus stop. One huge plus, IMHO, was they are picked up and dropped off before POR. With a 2 and a 5 year old, it was nice to have seats in the morning and even better not to have a long bus ride at night. I didn't have a single complaint! And there are elevators, but they were not close to our room. We had stairs right outside our door so we took those. Have fun!!
