We just booked a last minute trip (going in 2 weeks) for DH, myself and 2 kids (18, 19) so there wasn't much availability for our dates. We are booked at OKW in a studio which is a resort I have wanted to try anyway and am happy to have the slightly larger room with the fridge, microwave etc but beyond that don't know much about this resort. Any recommendations on room location before I put my request in?

There can be traffic noise at OKW due to the two major roads that border it. The buildings you want to avoid if traffic noise bothers you are 19-22, 38-39, 41-42 or 49-52. My requests are usually just NOT those buildings. :)

Did you book through Disney or through DVC/renting points? If it's through Disney, you probably won't get near the Hospitality House as that is a separate booking category for DVC and the first to book.

Good luck!

Good to know...we did book through Disney

If you can't get close to the HH, try to get in the Old Turtle pool area. There is a pool, hot tub, clubhouse with pool bar, snacks, arcade, shuffleboard, playground, etc.

I stayed in a studio in building 27, upstairs. It was a perfect location, easy walk to Hospitality House and next to the first bus stop. I just requested on Penisular Road. The bus does the entire loop of the entire resort so I would sit on my balcony and could see the bus stop from there. When I would see the bus I wanted at that stop, I would just take a nice leisurely stroll over the bridge and to the stop in front of Hospitality House, which is the last stop. No doing the loop. When coming home mine was the first stop and just a short 2 min. walk to my building. Yes, I could hear the buses but they never really bothered me. There is not really a very good QS location there, a little walk up by the main pool that served a few breakfast items, the TS restaurant Olivia's in right there as well. I never ate there but it gets pretty good reviews. The studios are large, two beds, a nice large balcony, a small little hallway space before the bathroom that the kitcenette is in, sink/dorm fridge/microwave and cabinets. They don't stock the studios with dishes, I think there might have been one coffee cup and paper plates. I don't cook on vacation so morning coffee and storing the fridge was all I used. An old fashioned Mr. Coffee coffee pot. I'm assuming since you said you booked through Disney you are not DVC, so you will get your room cleaned and the coffee restocked daily. It's the oldest DVC resort and is showing it's age a little bit but if you want room to spread out, it will have it for you. It wasn't my cup of tea but only because I don't like riding the buses and prefer the Epcot resorts but I didn't hate it.

It's nice to know we will get the room cleaned..we have rented points before and didn't get fresh towels etc. and I missed having our beds made. Thanks for the info!

Peninsular Road will be the first bus stop and right across the bridge from the Hospitality House area (which is a booking category for points reservations). You can hop the boat to DTD or walk to the main pool. Tennis courts are not too far from those villas. Studios will have plastic flatware, paper plates, at least four real glasses and two or four real coffee mugs. Your coffee pot will be a Mr Coffee style, so bring your own filters and coffee if you prefer that to Joffrey's. You might have a 4-6 cup maker, but you can request a 10-12 cup maker. And you can also request a blender if you want one. You might want to bring a sharp knife if you plan on cutting fruits, vegetables or meat. Laundry rooms will be near the pools (and they will be free for you to use if you need one). There are barbeque grills around the property (they use charcoal - think you can buy it at the store there - and tools can be checked out from the HH area).
