It wasn't really planned but my friend had to go to Whittier and had a hotel room so I flew down and joined her. We went to DL one day and didn't try to do everything but we did our favorite rides, had brunch at Storyteller's, bought a few things, and ate at MK Terrace where my daughter joined us (she had been working Storyteller's (Pluto) so she was right there). We were walk-ups for MK and got right in, had a great table and the smaller terrace all to ourselves. Had a blast!

My dd left for home and my friend and I went into DL park to do a few more rides and decided to try Oga's. We were pretty surprised that we got right in! It was great fun. We each had something different to drink and I can't even tell you what, but mine was green and quite delicious. I'll include a picture so maybe someone will know what it was. We also had edamame and cucumbers sprinkled with spicy stuff and crunchies. We LOVED it! I can't wait to have another one of those green drinks. Yum! Oh, I forgot to clarify that we didn't have a reservation, just walked up and got right in.

A very fun, low-key day. I also got a new sweatshirt (the zip-up black hoodie for the 100th celebration that has fireworks on the sleeves). It's quite comfy!

That's so awesome! I'm glad you liked Oga's :) I always order too much when we go there because I like to have all the snacks lol.

Are all the snacks good? Any other recommendations?

We haven't been to Oga's since just after Star Wars land opened! Maybe we'll have to check it out again, especially if you can just walk up.

Did you have to share a table? Also - did you have a choice of a booth? The one thing that was stopping us was not having a choice for booth vs table.

The 5 blossom bread is so yummy. It's like a soft pretzel knot and comes with this honey mustard-ish, creamy sauce. Batuu bits are hard to describe, I'm not sure exactly what they are lol. There are some crispy fruit pieces and these wheel shaped crunchy sort of chips. For drinks I've tried the Cliff Dweller and the blue milk, which are non alcoholic. The Cliff Dweller was good, but I didn't like the blue milk because it was creamy and not that cold, but I'd expected it to be like the frosty kind at the milk cart.

I think walk-up gets a standing table and if you have a reservation you share a booth with other people. All the booths fit 13 people, according to the CM I talked to when we checked in last time.

We weren't offered a booth and we didn't ask for one. I didn't really know the setup beforehand so we just took what they gave us, which was a stand-up spot at the lighted curved counter. The bartenders were making things in front of us. I saw other stand up rectangular tables but I liked our spot. Next time, though, I might try for a booth!

Oooo, that 5-blossom bread sounds good!!! I'm kind of a picky eater so it's sometimes tricky because so many things have onions, cilantro, and fresh garlic which my body does not like/tolerate.

Went with DD 23 in January with reservations. Really didn't know what to expect in the way of seating. We were seated in a booth with a family of 4. The wife was somewhat talkative but the dad and teenagers didn't even look our way. I understand teenagers and how they can be but the dad? I think that detracted from our overall experience. I am going back again in Jan 2024 with DD23 and DD21 will join us and we are not sure if we want to go again. It would be much more fun if it was just us three and not rolling the dice in who might be in the same booth with you.

We had 10 adult-sized people at our table and it was tight. I definitely was sitting closer to a stranger than I prefer to. I can not imagine 13 people, yikes!

OP, glad you enjoyed Oga's! I love the atmosphere there (and the snacks!) I haven't cared for the drinks that we have had, too syrupy for me, but glad you enjoyed your beverage.

Were you at the park today? My son is at DLR and says it is unusually quiet. His wait for Rise was less than 15 min! The crowds must be in DCA for the Haunted Mansion World Premiere.

That was our experience the one time we went. We had reservations but got placed at a table close to the "DJ station" if I'm remembering right. We asked for a booth but they said you just had to go where they had availability at the time. We were there about 10 minutes and then a group of 3 mid/late-20 somethings were placed at the other side of the table. I was 21 at the time and with my family. We were friendly and said hi and smiled, but they looked at us and said ummm, hi? and then were kind of awkward and would look everywhere but in our direction lol

I agree that it detracts a bit if you're grouped with people less than cordial. I understand it's awkward to share a table with strangers, but at least don't make it worse by avoiding eye contact lol Oh well, makes for a funny story later.

No, I'm back home. We just had one day, earlier this week, and it was busy but not super crowded. We waited about 45 min for Guardians and got in line for Indy with a 20 min wait but the ride went down so it took more like 45 before we got through the line and to the ride.

Wow, the booth situation doesn't sound so good to me now. Those encounters could end up being pretty awkward! We enjoyed standing at the bar. We were able to look around and enjoy without being in forced contact with people who would rather you weren't there. I like to chat, but not when I'm making people uncomfortable. That's not fun for anyone.

Believe Magic Keys are blocked Saturdays in July now. Add that to the already low attendance (by summer standards) and I bet the parks were ghost towns today.

Both those encounters sound awkward! We had two groups seated with us. We were a group of 5, and both other groups were also a group of 5. The first group was friendly, and we chatted for a few minutes as they finished up. Then the second group came about 5 mins after the first group left. They said hi as they sat down and then pretty much ignored us. It felt a bit awkward, but at least they didn't completely avoid eye contact. I'll admit I did have 3 teens with us that were probably actively avoiding eye contact themselves though. My husband however would have a conversation with a telephone pole so he makes up for them.
We had booked the reservation as an afternoon rest point so I did want to sit for a few minutes and rest but the standing tables did look more comfortable as far as space. I am sure we will go back to Oga's but I am not sure I will bother with a reservation. We may just have to build in another afternoon break spot.

The seating is a bit odd. The first time we went we had no idea that sharing booths was expected, so when the CM brought us to the booth we thought she was having us barge in on the people still at the table before they were ready to leave. It was very awkward. Once we sat down nobody spoke to each other at all. That time we were there for over 90 minutes, so a few other groups came and went. One group was fellow Star Wars fans like us, so we had fun talking, but otherwise the groups kept to themselves. Last time we lucked out. We were seated with 1 woman who was on her phone the whole time so it was like having a table to ourselves.

I would say I am much like your husband. I am in sales so starting up a conversation is easy for me but when you get nothing in return I pretty much go about my business. Don't get me wrong, I am not wanting to have a 60 min chat but just some small talk to keep things from being awkward. Like where are from? visit often? how do you like your drink?
