We will be camping at FW for the first time in July/August, traveling from Cobourg, ON, Canada in our RV with our two wiener dogs.. Can't wait but will be more relaxed when the journey is over, 1480 miles is a long haul which we plan to do over 4 days.

Just booked our campsite for August 2013. Will be traveling with my husband and a 2 year old. Let me know how it goes for you. We are from Port Colborne, Ontario, and we were looking to make it there in 3 days (8 hours of driving a day). Not sure how to get recommendations on good campsites for on the way up and on the way back.

That is a LONG way for you both to come.

I hope your first visit to the Fort won't be the last.:stir:

Hi!

I'll be there from July 28th through August 2nd! I've been to the Fort before, but not since I was 10 and I have to say that was while back. We'll be in one of the camping loops, look for the medieval tent and the red minivan.

Good luck with your camping trip and the long drive! Ours is only 17 hours so although that's not going to be great fun cooped up in a vehicle with an active 5 year old and 10 year old, it's not as bad as driving from Canada! Go you!
