I am surprising my wife by bringing her along with me on a business trip to FL. I have two free days so I have made res at the Dolphin. I got a great teacher rate of $129. Since we have 5 kids and a teacher's salary, we've never been able to stay at such an upscale place (we think $60 is expensive when traveling with the kids!). In fact, we've never been away from the kids like this for 5 days since we've been married 17 years ago! I'm afraid we won't know what to do with ourselves!! (just kidding). Thursday, March 21, will be our full free day, so I think we'll take in Epcot.

I am a Starwood Gold member, although this is the first time I'm using my membership. Will I notice any advantages to having this? Also, on my reservation info online it says that we have a traditional King non-smoking room with view of resort area and Crescent Lake. Is this a good room to have?

Are there places to eat that are not extremely expensive? For breakfast can you just go "continental"? We usually don't eat a big breakfast.

Seeing that we've having 6 inches of snow in Michigan today, I can't wait for FL in March!

I know you will have a great time. We used the government rate in 2000 and really enjoyed the resort. It sounds to me like your view will be beautiful. I didn't read the word "parking lot" in the view description- LOL!
On a couple of different mornings, DH went down to Tubbi's while I was getting ready and brought some Krispy Kreme doughnuts and milk back up to our room. I don't know what else they have available for breakfast but who needs more than a Krispy Kreme (unless its 2 of them).

We did and got an Epcot view for 8 days! It was the vacation of a lifetime. We could see the fireworks every night (when we were in the room!)
We only paid $99/ night through my employer last May. Enjoy!!!
