We have stayed at Pop several times and used to love it, but last time we had some problems and don't want to stay there again. So we are looking at Mods.

CBR is probably out as we want queen beds. What about CSR, POFQ and POR? I lean toward POFQ or POR as I see southwest themed things in Texas already and CSR just might be special for that reason.

Are the royal rooms at POR worth it?

We would likely rent a car, as we hate riding the buses.

Any and all thoughts as to WHY you prefer CSR, POFQ or POR would be appreciated. THANKS!!!

I've stayed at CSR, CBR & POR & really, really enjoy POR. DH & I just had 2 trips there in April & stayed in the AB preferred section so we were close to everything. The rooms we had were great. We spent time exploring the resort & of course taking the boat to DTD a few times. The food court is great & we never found it to be overly crowded. The CM's were amazing & we had no issues with housekeeping. We also had no issues with the buses. We never take our car to any of the parks. Once it's parked it stays there until we leave. If you'd like, check out an amazing website www.portorleans.org. This website along with the POR threads on here made choosing this resort again after many years quite easy.

Good luck & I hope your trip will be magical. :thumbsup2

POR is my favorite. You can visit DTD by water-taxi. Exactly why I like it best ... its a good happy median. The pool is not as crazy fun as coronado but it's pretty nice and you can pool hop over to POFQ. The water taxi is more important than you might think going in...

hmmm...

The CMs there are great, and the grounds are beautiful.

And last september a baby squirrel fell out of a tree and a CM from the food court came out to scold the kids who were poking at it. She also had animal guy on his way when the squirrel's mum came down, chattered at us, and toted her baby back up the tree.

So... some subjective memories.

The royal rooms are not worth it.

We stayed at POFQ and loved it!!

We stayed at csr and loved the pool but were underwhelmed by the theme and food. Last year we tried por and loved the theme and the food but the pool was boring. Our dd isn't excited by pools now so I would pick por over csr. We walked through pqfq a few times and my dd thought that might be fun to try the next time we stay at a mod but this year we are back to deluxe.

We have stayed at all the mods. I think it comes down to a matter of taste in theming. We seem to keep coming back to POR because of the theme (we like the mansions best), the boat to DtD, and the good bus service.

CBR gets some bad reviews on here but I love it ! Yeah, you only get a full size bed but to me it's worth it bc CBR is a little slice of heaven located in Disney. You feel like you are really in the tropics, the pool is amazing, food court has many choices, and it was just an overall great experience for my family. We can't wait to go back May 2014.

We LOVE POFQ, it is private and small and everything is within a couple minute walk. It is a romantic resort, but if you are traveling as a family - it may lack a tad in the amenities section due to it's size. That being said, you can of course walk over to the POR and use their stuff as well, as they are sister hotels.

Both of those are beautiful and you won't go wrong. Just depends on what you want!

My adult daughter and I stayed at POFQ in April and LOVED it! Comfortable beds, nice room décor, good space, loved the small, but not too small resort, loved being able to head to POR too for dinner one night, loved how quiet our room was (building 7, river view, third floor corner room--perfect pixie-dust upgrade from garden view ), loved the boat, loved the marshmallow roasting and the movie in the courtyard, loved hearing the horse drawn carriages come clomping down the sidewalk in the evening. We'd return in a heartbeat!

We love POR!!! We have stayed there a few times now and we will be back in November. I just really love the resort. The food court is great, the gift shop is nice and I love Piano Bob. We enjoy taking the river boat to DTD and the resort its self is just beautiful and relaxing.

As for the Royal Rooms, I can let you know after Nov. because we are booked for one. Personally I wouldn't pay more for it but I had no choice because its all they had left for our stay with free dining. I'm sure it will be nice though. We just normally stay in the AB section and we love it.

We have also stayed at CBR and I was not crazy about it mainly because it seemed so huge and our room was so far away from the main building.

Out of the two, I would go for Riverside, hands down.

I love POR!! I tossed around the idea of staying in a Royal Room for their great location-- they're right by the main building & bus stop.

We don't do the pool, so I can't comment on that. We love the grounds (so peaceful and beautiful), options and quality of the food court, reliability of the buses (RARELY waited more than 10-15 mins for a bus). The refurb made the bathrooms/beds/soft goods of the Mansions gorgeous!

You'll see from my sig that my previous experiences were BC/Poly/BC - this year was my first Moderate, and I chose POFQ primarily for the small, compact size and because it looked "pretty." I loved it, and will be going back there again unless and until I decide to save up and splurge on another BC stay.

I'm also not a pool person, so can't judge by that, and I only used the food court for breakfast (good selections and a quick start to the day), but the room was nice and comfortable and the resort is pretty, quaint and charming, all traits that appeal to me.

I can see why people love POR, too, and the pics/video I've seen of the Royal Rooms are very appealing. I'm not at all "outdoorsy," and prefer the fountains-and-flower-beds landscaping of POFQ to the more lush, natural look of POR, but that's just a matter of personal taste. If POFQ was booked up, I'd definitely give POR a try, but would probably go for a Royal Room so I'd be sure of being in the Mansions.

I've stayed at POR, POFQ, CSR and CBR. I'm also from Texas and did not enjoy the CSR theming, so probably will not return there again. Also, since it is a convention resort, the main building was also very crowded at times in the evening during their convention social time. My first 2 choices would be either of the Port Orleans resorts. I like being able to ride the boat to Downtown Disney from either resort. We enjoy the size of POFQ. It is a smaller resort and quiet. I've only stayed at the Mansions in POR and liked them very well. Also, our favorite performer is at POR on Wed. thru Sat. nights and we always take time to see Bob Jackson's show one evening. We had an unexpected stay at CBR in May when we were upgraded when we went to check in at All Star Sports. We liked this resort. It is large. We stayed in the Martinique area and it was a short walk to the food court. However, my cell phone would not work at all in our room which was a bit inconvenient.

Port Orleans Riverside or as we say around here POR! When we were personally priced out of Deluxe (refuse to pay that much) Started staying at the POR and never looked back. We will be back there in August and I have already booked our 2014 too. Never had any issues with space we are a family of 5 and everyone is happy.

I've stayed at all the mods. CSR is by far my favorite, to me it's a mod with the feel of a deluxe. The rooms are great, I love the sliding doors between the sink area and the bed area instead of a curtain.

we stayed at POR in february & loved it. we will definitely be going back sometime in the future. :goodvibes

Love POFQ as it is a smaller resort. Half the size of the other moderates.

I've stayed the CBR and like it. It's spread out. Just booked for Nov '14 at POR with a river view. Really excited about it. I have read many great reviews on it. Everyone seems to love it.

POFQ has half the guest units as POR and the same size pool. If you want to enjoy a pool without being swarmed it's a nice option. POR is still our favorite for the trundle-bed thing in aligator bayou.

CSR is beautiful! I think you'd find it a big step-up from Pop.:earsboy:
