My DH and I are leaving the kids at home for our trip in Nov.! A second Honeymoon!! Does anyone have any advice?

Spend the day at Epcot, stopping and enjoying the shops/details/architecture of each country's pavillion. Have a slushie at France!! Make reservations for dinner at one of the restaurants in World Showcase.
Have dinner at one of the monorail resorts. You can also enjoy watching Wishes from one of the monorail resorts or return to the park to watch it.
Take a stroll to Disney's Boardwalk...many options for dinner and Jellyrolls for nightlife fun.
Explore the finer details of Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Check out the Downtown Disney nightlife..or just enjoy a walk through the area.
Do some resort hopping...all of the resorts are unique in their own way. Take a stroll inside and outside the resorts and enjoy the landscaping/scenary. Spend some time at Animal Kingdom Lodge...beautiful resort.

Do things that you normally wouldn't do with kids...:goodvibes

Have a nice dinner at the California Grill, we did for our Anniversary and had a great time. Try to have the dinner during the MK fireworks because they dim the lights in the resturant and pipe in the music from the show. We were lucky enough to get a table right by the window facing MK. We have never forgot it, that was about 7 years ago.

1) Sleep in and have a leisurely morning...
...depending on where you're staying, order room service and enjoy breakfast on your balcony or grab coffee and pastries and stroll the grounds of your resort.

2) Head out later in the day, when the crowds thin out (BONUS!) When 3:30 hits and the kids start melting down all around you (not to mention the adults!), go get your favorite beverages and relax on a bench. ;) Enjoy the evening EMHs and fireworks.

3) Try and snag a late dinner ADR at someplace where there usually aren't a lot of kids (California Grille, Citricos, Jiko....) - not always impossible to snag a same day ADR if you don't mind eating late. If you really time it right, try Calif Grille around Fireworks time - even just for a cocktail in the lounge - and go out on the observation deck to watch. Soooooo romantic.

Ooh... one more suggestion...
Do a dinner or lounge monorail tour:
Lounge - have a drink/appetizer in a lounge in each of the resorts on the monorail
Dinner - have drinks/appetizer at one, entrees at another, and dessert at 3rd

Oh! And go on all those crazy kid attractions, scream, yell, giggle and BE the kids for a change!

Congrats and have a wonderful time!! :)

I love the idea of "hitting" a lounge at each of the monorail resorts. In fact my husband and I go each year alone and every other year with all the kids (the "kids" are late teens and even 20 but they will never pass up Disney). I do sometimes wish we could be more spontaneous than adr s every night. Small "picky" food at lounges might be fun for him and I and it might be a great way to see some places even we haven't seen yet. (Have you ever noticed that sometimes it's the most obscure, unplanned place or time that winds up being the most memorable of your whole trip?) Does anyone have any fun or unique lounges that should be on our list? My husband's drink of choice is grey goose vodka so we have to get over to France and find these slushies I'm reading about. I have also heard really nice things about some of the Swan/Dolpin lounge areas. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

Does anyone have any fun or unique lounges that should be on our list?

The one near Artist Point (name is escaping me) has lovely atmosphere and some great microbrews.

The lounge at CA Grille is a great place - especially if you plan to be there for the fireworks at MK. And if there are seats at the sushi bar, it's some of the best in the "world."

Also heard good things about Mizners at Grand Floridian and Kimonos at Dolphin (again, especially if you like sushi)

There's also supposed to be a neat little lounge near Jiko at AKL.

Many lounges offer at least apps and some will let you order right off the menu of the restaurant next door.

We are leaving the kids at home for our 10 year annivsary trip in May '09 and we are going to do the Segway tour at FW (they have them at EPCOT too), and the Keys to the Kindom tour! It's also great to plan ADR's without having to worry about what's on the kid's menu! :thumbsup2

Take your time. Now you dont have to rush to everything, if you miss something, you will get it another time

we are definitely doing the adult-enjoyment tour this time...late mornings, leisurely breakfasts...DTD withOUT kids whining to buy everything they see...spa treatments, F&W...it promises to be a fabulous trip with my beloved fiance.

I second the monorail lounge tour. I always do that when I'm there alone for business trips. Hit every bar, in every resort on the monorail and then head over to Magic Kingdom to watch the fireworks. They're even better when you're, uh..... extra happy?
