First stay using points and I'm getting anxious.

We're leaving the 9th for a stay at the Poly using points (we just joined in Spring). I'm getting really worried that we'll show up at the Poly and they'll say "We don't have a reservation for you." Of course, MS won't be open until Monday, so that would just be great.

I guess, being a newb, I'm worried about the integration of the two separate DVC and CRO systems. Has anyone else used the Disney Collection without incident? My brain tells me it won't be an issue, but I can't shake that nagging feeling. Should I call MS, and maybe even the Poly (they now have advance check-in)?

Thanks.

Why not just call the Poly? If they say that they don't have a ressie in the system for you (not sure what the lag time is between the two sytsems) just call MS and tell them that the Poly doesn't have you in the system. I always call any hotel a few weeks out to be sure that my ressie is set, even my DVC resorts. I've never rented outside of DVC resorts with points however. What can a call hurt?

Why not just bring a copy of your reservation with you?

I just used some points at the poly last month and i had the same concerns for some reason and i've been a member for 10 years! Don't worry it will be there though! My only concern is that you get a good room location. I swear we get the leftovers when we use points. I asked for lagoon view and while our room faced the lagoon, you could not see a drop of water! I used extra points for that "lagoon" view and when i asked to change rooms "nothing was available" and that room is the room my points paid for (she said). They said to call member services if i wasn't happy and of course, being a sunday, that wasn't happening.
I'm sure yours will turn out to be just fine. I have used points for other regular disney hotel rooms (when i had points to use or lose) and there was never a problem. Have fun!

Thanks much, Donna. My head tells me they've done this THOUSANDS of times, but I also know what my luck is like. Especially with MS being closed. We have a standard view (short trip, no time to admire the view, c'mon kids!), so I just hope it's convenient to the GCH or TTC. That stinks they gave you the "Buh-bye" treatment. I wonder if we (pts users) do indeed get the dregs? Thanks again for your input.

eta: Thanks to HGD and OKW as well.

I mainly booked poly for convenience to MK and monorail (going to epcot for food and wine). If i were doing it again, i would have used the points for a wilderness cabin and i even would have been able to get an extra night out of it. Live and learn!

We used points to stay at the AKL in March 04 and got a wonderful room. Every single one of requests were met. I could not have picked a better room in the whole resort.
