This is our first time staying at HOME and I know how to pack for resort-room stays but not DVC. Anything I should add to my list I might otherwise not have packed on previous non-DVC trips?

Thanks for your help! I'm so excited!!

about the same. tho we also pack water and dry items to eat in the room like at breakfast and then on the empty space in the suitcase we are able to bring souvenirs back

throw in some laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Target has some nice little bottles of all to bring along. washer and dryers are free so leave the quarters home.:lmao: We also throw in some pringles, etc to snack on. much cheaper from home store than disney store.

We bring some laundry detergent and dryer sheets.

We bring shelf stable groceries - coffee filters (Mr. Coffee Basket type), salt and pepper, sugar, coffee, a box of cereal, a few bags microwave popcorn. You get the idea. We then stop at the DVC store (we've done grocery stops and grocery delivery as well, but for our quantities, the store is good) and pick up the fridge stuff (milk, eggs, cheese, half and half).

In addition to the information in the other posts, here are some things I try to remember:
  • hand soap for kitchen sink
  • a few packages of powdered drink mixes to make and enjoy right after we arrive.
  • Power strip for charging cell phones and cameras
  • Drink shaker
  • DVC member cards
Have a great trip at home.

Definately laundry detergent and dryer sheets. We love bringing microwave popcorn, and snack foods to munch on in the as well as in the parks. We bring cereal and then have the cold stuff delivered from Garden Grocer. It worked out great. Had breakfast before we headed out, so no one was hungry as soon as we got there.
I always bring a candle to any hotel we go to, so I get that homey smell every time we walk in. And no, I don't leave it lit when we go out. Only light it when we are in the room.

Salt, pepper and sugar. Get air freshener instead of candles or non-burning scents.

And your credit card or wallet - you are going to need it.

I bring along hand soap for the bathroom and kitchen as well as packets of Tide and some dryer sheets. Also, I bought a cheap toothbrush holder to bring along so I don't have to keep my toothbrush in my glass. The only other thing I plan to bring along on my next DVC trip is extra washcloths. I'm going to buy some colored ones so housekeeping won't confuse mine with the Disney ones. They just don't provide enough washcloths for us (we each use 1 per night), so this way I can wash some halfway through the trip and not more often.

Just so you know, you will get a one load box of Tide when you arrive. I wish they could include salt and pepper in the coffee basket.

we pick up salt and pepper at the CS places, also ketchup and those type things as needed. we never buy or bring that stuff..yet

For one bedroom or larger units ---

- laundry detergent “sheets”; Purex makes some now; the starter box does not seem to go very far…
- extra coffee and filters
- salt and pepper shakers (the “picnic” type you can purchase at dollar stores)
- we order food through Garden Grocer, but just pretty basic stuff – water, eggs, milk, cereal, soda, snacks We tend to eat breakfast at home more than other meals.
- Crystal Light and/or ice tea packets, peanut butter
- Sometimes we bring CDs to watch on a rainy day; WDW tv is pretty awful unless you don’t mind ESPN in all its variations all day long….
- Extra old washcloths – for warmer weather – freeze them and pack in plastic bag to cool off at parks
- “zippy” bags come in handy to carry “wet” or “gooey” stuff like opened toothpaste, wet bathing suits, etc.

The kitchens and bedrooms are set up pretty well. There are plenty of plates, dishes, cups and utensils. There is soap, body wash and shampoo in the bathroom along with plenty of towels.

For the studio, I also would bring extra plastic cups, plates and utensils (they never seem to have enough).

Thank you OP for the question, I will be in the same boat as you in just a week!! One clarifying question on the laundry soap...do the machines take powdered or liquid soap? I always seem to end up brining the wrong one...

TIA!!

You can use either. I usually bring along a bottle of Tide with Bleach Alternative with me for the trip.

I learned from folks here to use small ziploc bags and put a loads worth of detergent into each baggie. Then it is all premeasured for you and easy to pack and if you get something messy at the resort you can always re use the ziploc baggie

Some things we find handy at DVC are a night light for the bathroom and suction cup hooks for hanging towels(we put them on the shower door).

Great, thanks for the tips on the laundry detergent...I actually found the Purex laundry sheets, will be trying one out tonight on the dog's bedding to see how it works.

Thanks for the great ideas! I've started a new packing list for when we stay DVC and I'm compiling everything together in a DVC box at home to keep things together.

Any other needs?

Don't forget your order for an owners locker! Then you won't have to bring the stuff back and forth every time you visit!
