We are staying at the YC in January and we are breakfast eaters. I am a little worried that we will not be able to find a hot breakfast close by. Every other place we have stayed on Disney property there has been a counter service restaurant close by. I have been reading about the Captain's Grill and wondering if food is good.

Are you looking for counter service or table service?

From the Yacht Club, you can walk over to the Beach Club Marketplace and get counter service items - they have an egg sandwich type thing, not sure what else is available. For a while recently, they were doing breakfast at Beaches N Cream as well, but I'm not sure if they are any longer.

I have not been to Captain's Grille so I can't speak to that, but it's a table service, so that's why I asked my original question because you mentioned counter service in your post.

If you want a Table Service then just head on over to the Beach Club and eat at Cape May Cafe!! We love the breakfast buffet over there and the characters make it fun, too.

Oh heck yes, Captains Grille was very good! I went there on a whim with my son last April, and the buffet was delicious. Service wasn't so great, but that might have just been my server. Also, you could head over to the Dolphin, they have some great options for breakfast, check out Allears.net for all the menus.

The Boardwalk Bakery is on the other side of the lake. It has some great breakfast items and should only be an enjoyable 5-10 minute walk away.

We stayed at the YC last year and did Captains Grill, Cape May, Board Walk Bakery. While in the Marketplace we seen the breakfast items people were trying out....we'll be checking that out a couple mornings this time along with all the rest I listed! Good luck! We loved the YC last year, trying the BC this year!:goodvibes

You are staying at a hotel that is in a resort area with four other deluxe hotels - there are plenty of options, you just need to do some research.

There is the Captain Grill's at the YC; there is Cape May Cafe and the Beach Club Marketplace at the Beach Club (I've also heard that Beaches and Cream is serving breakfast now, too); There is Kouzzina and the Boardwalk Bakery on the opposite side of the lake; There are also places like Fresh and the Garden Grill over at the Swan and Dolphin, which are right next door to the Yacht Club.

We have stayed at YC/BC, BWI and Swan/Dolphin and it is hard to find a nice CS place for breakfast...the BWI bakery has a nice fruit plate and pastries, the YC has zip, the BC is very limited as well (not impressed with their options).

For TS we have done it all, Cape May is the best! Capts Grill we have done twice and were not impressed either time.

Going next month and staying at the Dolphin, thinking of doing Fresh one day and eating breakfast at the parks the other days.

I have an ADR at Captain's Grille, the buffet options there looked about the same as Cape May. I'll be posting a review when I get back.

You can get breakfast sandwiches somewhere at YC as well as the Boardwalk Bakery.

CS= Beach Club Marketplace and Boardwalk Bakery
TS= CapeMay Clambake and Captain's Grille,Beaches and Cream
I dont know about the Swan and Dolphin but other breakfast counter services would have to be in the parks.

Beaches and Cream no longer serves breakfast. That was just a short test run over the summer.

The Yacht Club is next to the Dolphin. If you want to walk over to the Dolphin, they have a 24-hour restaurant called Picabu Buffeteria. (If you haven't been there before, you're not walking in the street; you're walking around the lake. You can get to Boardwalk, Swan, and Dolphin this way.)

Anyway, the restaurant used to be called Tubbi's. You get a tray and walk through the cafeteria line. The breakfast menu posted on allearsnet is from June 2009. I don't know if the menu has changed since then. Maybe you can do a separate thread asking if the menu has been updated. Here's what was posted:

If you are looking for counter service with hot breakfast platters including the usual eggs, bacon and/or waffles and you're on the dining plan you're out of luck. Other than the temporary breakfast served at Beaches & Cream (which is no longer served at this time), there's no such thing in the entire Epcot resort area.

If you are not on the dining plan, you can get all of that at Picabu at the Dolphin.
