My DH and I will be staying in a studio at OKW next week and have never stayed
at this resort before. I'm very excited because I've heard great things and it
looks so incredibly beautiful. Any suggestions on what building to request for
quiet and lovely views? We're pretty healthy and don't mind walking so being
far away from pool or main building is a non-issue for us. We'll also have a car
so the bus stops aren't even an issue! :thumbsup2
Thanks for the input!

I usually request near the hospitality center as it provides great views and real convenience to the entire resort. Buildings 62, 16 and 23-27 are my favorites.

Turtle Pond area has always been a favorite of ours. But next time, we might try South Point. For the marathon, my husband says he wants to stay on Miller's Road so it's an easy walk to the start line.

Anywhere with a golf course/water view is great with us.

Not to mention firewaorks view from Building 62

In reality, fireworks from Epcot can be seen from many of the OKW buildings. The studios are all on the outside ends of the buildings, so you are likely to get a hemmed in view of vegetation unless you happen to get a third floor unit in one of the buildings that has 3 floors. We prefer the South Point area for views and quiet. We especially like buildings 55, 56, 45, and 46.

We have stayed in many different areas since becoming DVC members in 1994 and have not had a bad experience. We stayed on Turtle Pond (buidling 42)this trip (12/23-12/29/06) in a two bedroom. we were right on the golf course and watched the players tee off at our hole while having morning coffee on the patio. We were right near the turtle pond pool which is very nice and close to the bus stop. Our favorite was off millers road (building 22), very quiet and near quiet pool. If you are in a studio, being near the pool areas where the laundry facilities are makes it convenient for those in studios. We have also stayed at southpoint and enjoyed the quiet, but also a nice walk to main pool area( as is the turtle pond area and the millers road area) and also stayed in building 13 across from check-in area and found it convenient but very busy with traffic including buses and cars to check-in area.
Have fun

It certainly doesn't seem like there is a bad location at this resort. I appreciate
all of your expertise and will absolutely love exploring and experiencing this
"veteran" resort. I've always wanted to go to the Keys! :thumbsup2

The worst place or view at OKW is a lot better then a great view at work ;)

I love 45 and 46....right on the river. In fact, 45 doesn't have a building beside it so we had river views from every window in our one bedroom.

Have a wonderful vacation. I love OKW.
