Arrived last night, checked in around five, room ready, headed straight to Chef Mickeys for dinner. Could not wait to see our room, we are in a studio, lake view, nice location. The studio is small, but plenty of room for us, dh, me and twin 8 year olds. I love the colors, the bed is very comfy, and the view is great. We just got back from Epcot, so it will either be the pool or Top of the World. I love these decisions!! It is going to be hard to stay anywhere else, we are in love with the location.

Enjoy your stay! I'm glad you're happy with the studio and the lake view.

This is good to hear
I own at BLT but will not be staying in my new home until May when I am hosting several family members and friends for DH and my vow renewal. The recent bad reviews of the state of the resort have really freaked me out, so much so, I was considering trying to change resorts when the 7 month window opened up. It is so important that all my guests have a good time and I was getting really nervous about BLT. You have put my mind at rest a bit but I am really not sure what to do!!:confused3

Glad to hear you are enjoying your stay.

When we were there in December, it was tough to be at the bus stop for DHS and hear the MK train whistle. It felt like MK was telling us to skip the other parks and come enjoy the day at MK.

Tinkerbell766 - don't even sweat the BLT conditions comments. Yes I have commented on those threads and have experienced some disappointement. Rule of thumb just go through the room before you unpack and if you see anything that you feel needs assistance immediately call housekeeping. I think the issue is how quickly some of this wear/tear issues are showing up at BLT - or at least it was for my comments. I don't let the minor things bother me, yeah it shouldn't be there but I just call and have always had them fix it asap.

All resorts have these issues, I have seen a great deal of comments for BWV. Yeah I have had some wear/tear issues there but as long as it is clean and they deal with any issues in a timely manner I'm good. I just got back from BCV and the sliding door to the patio didn't work, called and within an hour they had someone there, the guy pretty much rebuilt it!

Anyway DON'T STRESS it, you will have a great time. Read all the wonderful posts about BLT. Again I think people are just shocked on some of the choices they made about the resort and then what that means for future MFs.

Unless you want to change because you really would rather be in a different resort, I would stay with BLT and enjoy it. It isn't perfect. If your friends/family know anything about WDW, they know the location is top notch. The lounge at the top is a great place to relax and enjoy the fireworks. What a gorgeous view they're going to have, what a great location. It isn't a cheap motel...if Disney has to make it right they will. We had a wonderful BLT stay in January!

In '04 I was just dying because BWV was being bashed on the boards, one would think that nothing about the resort was right (well except for the location, no one complained about that) , everyone had a terrible room, carpet was moldy, garbage in the halls, busses were awful, they never came, there were terrible waits. That's where our GG was set to be....and it was GRAND. Truly.

By the way, if you do change, you know that resort will be the next to be bashed here, that's practically guaranteed. So, stay with your first choice, that's my opinion.

Don't sweat it. We own at BLT and stayed there in May of this year. You'll have a great time.

Thank you for the encouraging words!!
I will not change my reservation - I think I was just panicing really!! It's always stressful playing host and I am sure that I will find a million other things to worry me before the time rolls around!!
Thanks again!!

HI twins4disney,
Thanks for the live update and glad to hear you are enjoying your stay. When I stayed at BLT I thought I might be dissapointed if I did not have the MK view, though once there I thought the lake view was great. Have a great trip and thanks again for sharing. :thumbsup2

Actually I was kinda worried about not splurging for MK view as well, but I found our LV room (overlooking the pool area) was just awesome.

The view of MK from the skyway bridge was incredible, and was good enough for me!

How are your twin 8 yr olds on the pullout? I've got twins that will be 7 when we're tehre next March.

Yu may be able to see EPCOT from a lake view room, and you can see the water parade late night (around 10PM or so).

From my lake view room (which overlooked the pool, 5th floor), you could tell a fireworks show was going on over at Epcot, but you couldn't really see it.

You could see the water parade from the room though. We got into our room right at 10:00PM and the show was going on. Kept DD3 entertained while we got settled. It was very nice.

This is why they gave us the cheesy DVC binoculars at the program witht he Wishmister last year...or something :lmao:

Everything went great! The view of the water parade at night was awesome. As far as the pull out, we found our kids to be so exhausted they did not complain about the bed. Watching the fireworks from the walkway and TOWL was better than I imagined. We did move to a studio last night at BWV, right away noticed the size difference of the studio, but I would again go with the smaller studio at BLT. We have decided to do a split stay next time, 5 at BLT, 5 at BCV.

That's what I was wondering about. If the location and other amenities of being at BLT would over ride some negative feelings that I have about the studio. I was too late to try to get a BLT studio at 7 months, but I have waitlisted. I enjoyed the location when we stayed in a dedicated 2 bedroom with the family in January, so I thought I would test staying in a studio if I could.

Your next stay sounds just right!:thumbsup2

Years ago we stayed at the CR in the tower w/MK view, it was nice but I knew from that experience that this time I wanted a lake view. We are going in Jan, 2011 during MLK holiday, I was lucky enough to get in at the 7 month window. I can’t wait to try this new resort; I love the location to the monorail & the other resorts in area not to mention the MK. :cutie:

Two highlights for me are the MK fireworks & the electric water parade, I just love that parade! :lovestruc I wish they did something like it at the BW but I guess there is enough going on over there that it’s not needed.
