First stay at AKL !!

i just came back from AKL last week, and i totally loved it. Get the savenna view because it's totally worth it. Waking up in the morning and see gazelles and cattles eating outside, simply stunning. the service is wonderful there too, and not to mention the good food. try to eat at Boma a couple of times, and at least once at Jiko, it's definitely worth it.

We've stayed there twice so far. The first time was an 8 night stay and we lucked out and got upgraded to gorgeous savannah view. It was in October/Halloween so it wasn't that busy and it was so nice and relaxing. My DGD loved the pool and all the activities there and we didn't get to participate in all of them. The cookie decorating, free crafts by the pool, ummm, a couple more I can't remember. Very nice. Excellent cocktails by the pool, wonderful food.

The second time we stayed a couple nights at the end of a 5 night BCV stay. I sprang for a deluxe savannah view and the view was horrible. It was of the people pen which I could deal with but we could also see some sort of service road entrance that had the arm gate that goes up/down to let vehicles in. I'm not the complaining type so didn't ask to move; we just didn't venture out on the balcony. It was June and the place was packed, pool & Mara was crowded. They were charging $20 to do the craft thing at the pool and I had my DGD plus two of her friends so that would've been $60 to do it so we passed. I don't know, it just seemed like a completely different atmosphere. Of course it was hotter than hades too...and rainy...and by the time we got there we were tired.

But, I love it there and would go back in a minute. The CMs in the gift shop are especially kind. Prolly wouldn't spring for deluxe room tho....

We just stayed at AKL for the first time and fell in love with it! Thanks to these boards, I knew that the rooms were a little smaller than where we usually stay, and much darker, but I expected it and it wasn't a problem. We loved the terrific theming throughout the resort. The staff were so friendly, the resort was very clean, there were lots of really different activities, and my kids loved the pool because it had different depths, and most of us liked the food. (My husband isn't very good about trying new things....) We loved the zero entry pool, because we could get in the shallow part by the side and lean back against the side while in the water and chill out!

Stayed there this past July and absolutely fell in love with it. Going back in 9 days from now for another week! The best deluxe I have been in so far...

What is the average time it took for the AKL bus to go to MK?

We timed it last month for MK one day and it took 13 minutes. Don't know if our driver was going fast or not. I had heard it would take forever to get to MK, but we were very happy.

Our families FAVORITE resort. We LOVE this place. It's like have a vacation away from your vacation. Everything here is so beautiful and tranquil. It is a very relaxing place. We normally only shower and sleep in our room but when e stay here we find we spend more time enjoying the resort and the views. Be sure to try BOMA....FANTASTIC!!! Have a wonderful trip.

The trip to MK is the longest, I think. As I recall we timed it and it was about 14-15 minutes. Our bus transporation was always great. The only place where we waited tons of time was at Animal Kingdom (the park) ...seemed like to always took forever for a bus to come. Too bad there isn't a path. We would walk it ... but right now the bus is the only transportation.

You will love AKL!! We stayed for the first time in June and were in absolute awe of the place. CM's were all nice. Mousekeepers timely and proficient.
