I'm coming out by myself in Jan for the Marathon. I'll be there from the 9th - 15th. I'm thinking about all the great places there are to eat around the resort. For those that go alone, do you go to sit down restaurants? Or just stick to counter service? I'm a little hesitant to eat at a sit down place alone. I'm just wondering what others do. Thanks!

I think I do better at TS than Counter Service cause I tend to take my time and enjoy the food more. At a CS I rush through. . .ah, you probably meant about the whole solo thing. . .lol. I guess I would probably never know. I ate solo in Europe so many times that I just got used to it. . .I would usually pick the Bar to sit at and strike up a conversation with the bartender and really enjoy my food. . .

I did a solo in 2006 when I had free dining. It felt a bit strange sitting on my own in restaurants at first but I took my journal to write and a good book and it was fine - I did Le Cellier, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Crystal Palace and Boma and really enjoyed it!

I was seriously thinking about shooting down in Oct. for the Tower of Terror 13K race but I don't know. It would most likely have to be a solo trip for me and I just feel like it would be very lonely :(

I am also doing a solo trip for the Marathon in Jan. I decided to sign up for a few tours so I wouldn't feel lonely.

I noticed you are from Southern California. Did you do the Disneyland 1/2 marathon? It was my first 1/2 marathon. I figured why not keep training and do my first full at WDW.

I've got a trip planned in January too and it looks like it might be a solo one. I'm thinking the same thing regarding eating. I really don't mind eating alone, but (for me at least) I think some restaurants are better for it than. For me, I'm sure I'll bring a book or journal. I'm planning on 3 or 4 TS meals, just can't decide which ones yet!

Hope you're trip is great. :goodvibes
