First solo trip booked 5/20-24

SO excited - just confirmed and booked AKL Jambo in a studio for my first solo trip... so far got ADR at Yak & Yeti and BOG.... cant wait

I will miss my family but we are all going back in October for Halloween!

Anyone else going 5/20-24 week???

I'm planning to go from May 22-25. Just for the 24 hour event. I must admit I am nervous about going solo. I'm afraid I will be lonely. But I also don't want to miss out on the fun!

I'll be by myself too. I'm going for the 24 hour day which starts Friday, May 23, at 6 am to Saturday, May 24 at 6 am.

Depending if I can get Friday off, I will probably be there Friday evening.

Maybe all the solo people can meet somewhere at MK?

I have been to the past two. They get busy during 7pm-3am. But they do thin out. A lot of people will sleep on the benches and what not. It's a great time. No where as busy as NYE or Christmas or Easter. Waits are maybe an hour or so and only during the times I've listed.

If anyone wants to meet up. PM me. I have a FaceBook. Later on, I will creat a thread here to make sure everyone sees it and we don't miss anyone lol.

My last 2 trips have been solo. I am a stay-at-home dad for the last 5 years. My wife told me to get away when I was getting burnt out (we have 4 small kids). So I went last August and May of 2011. My only problem was feeling guilty leaving the kids behind, at least the 2 old enough to understand. But, my wife didn't want to go and didn't want me to take the kids without her. It was so enjoyable once I was there because I did what I wanted, when I wanted. I didn't go on many rides. I just soaked up the atmosphere. I even did a sit down meal once on each trip. (Only went for a weekend both times). They were both at the Floridian (our honeymoon was there so its special for me). In each case the waitress I had was great, didn't make me feel odd for dining by myself.

Hopefully this helps. Oh, I am going back in October. This time it is not a "vacation". I am going to do the TOT runDisney event. Still going by myself though and looking forward to it more this than in the past.

I'm just booked to go solo for first time from May 22-25. I'll be at Saratoga Springs. My plan is to go to the opening at 6am hit a few rides and then by lunch go back to resort and nap and then be in park from 6p-6am ( that is the plan at least at this point

I'm going to try to do the whole 24! Although I may have to stop into the Hall of Presidents for a bit in the late afternoon (wink).

I'm also planning to get there extra early to get in line. And to buy my t-shirt!

I think this trip will be less ride centric and more reflective. I'm looking forward to enjoying a Mimosa in France while watching the sunset. That's not something I can do on a family vacation!

It should be a great time. I am contemplating doing ALL day but that sounds like more than I could contemplate but I might see how it goes. Plan is to get my AP on Thursday when I get in to avoid crazy lines Friday morning.
