Hi everyone, my dh and I went down 28 Aug and stayed until 1 Sept. We had an absolute blast and ate tons of food. We were also on the free dining plan. I'll go day by day below and list where we ate and what we ate and if we like it.

Day 1: We landed at MCO around 11:30 a.m. but didn't get to the hotel until around 2:00 p.m. because of ME. After checking in, we headed straight to the MK for late lunch/snack. We paid out of pocket at Casey's hot dogs. We had two dogs, two fries, and two drink and the total was a bit over $18. We thought it was good but it could have been because we hadn't eaten all day either. the fixins bar was a hit with my dh.

For dinner that night we had O'hana's. We had a 7:40 p.m. PS and were seated around 7:20 with a gorgeous window view of the castle though we didn't ask for it. We had never been there before so really didn't know what to expect except from what I read here. The waitress told us to order milkshakes or smoothies since we could in addition to the alcohlic drinks that we had taken with us from the bar. I had the mailbu mawpaw and it was sooo good. I could use another now. Anyways, the appetizers were good. The shrimp wontons and the wings were our fav but the potatoes were good as well. We didn't care for the veggie stiry fry and we both love stiry fry but this was just to wilted for our taste. The peanut dipping sauce and the ginger cilantro sauce were wonderful but the fruit sauce tasted like mushed fruit. My dh could not believe all the food coming to our table and he loves to eat. I loved the shrimp skewers the best with the turkey a close second. They didn't cook the steak enough for my liking and the pork loin I think it was wasn't the great on our list. The pineapple was to die for, soo good with that carmel sauce. At the end of the night I thought my dh was going to have to be rolled out of there. He was litereally holding his stomach from eating so much. Overall we had a great dinner and I think we will be going back.

Day 2:

We didn't eat much early in the day after such a big dinner at O'hana's the night before. This was Epcot day and aroun 10:15 my dh went to ride Mission Space and I went to find something to snack/breakfast on because I don't ride MS. I think that this meal from the Electric Umbrella might have been the best out of pocket value. I didn't use a CS meal because I knew I wouldn't be getting anything huge. For $4.57 I got a good size bowl of cut up fruit, a to go box of rice crispy cereal and a carton of milk. I ate my cereal and half the fruit and used half the milk. By the time I was almost down, my dh was back and he finished the fruit and rest of the milk. We thought that this was a great cheap meal.

Lunch was at Le Celier, where we shared 1 TS meal. I had read all the reviews about the cheese soup so of course I tried that. I told our wonderful waitress up front that we would be sharing the meal and she said no problem. We ended up with the cheese variety appetizer, the 10 oz New York strip, the dessert platter, a cup of cheese soup and 1 milkshake and 1 smoothie. She put all this on one TS meal. I was all prepared to pay out of pocket for something but she said not to worry about it. When the bill came out, it totaled something like $100. I could not believe it. My dh just about died and went to heaven with this meal. We will absoutely be going back here. Everything we had was wonderful, especially the soup!

Late dinner in the Pop food court of chicken bacon wraps from the frig section because most everything was closed at 11:30 p.m.

Day 3

The night before my dh asked if we could have a big breakfast so I said sure but did he want a charcter breakfast, which he did. I called right at 8 a.m. on this morning and asked for any openings at the 1900 Park Fare and managed a 10:30 a.m. The food was great and by this time it was not really crowded and we could eat in relative peace. The cheese blinis were melt in your mouth good. If you ever see my dh in person, remember to ask him about Alice standing on a chair in the middle of the big dining room yelling his name and telling him to get back to his table immediately because she was waiting on him. I thought I would choke laughing.

We grabbed lunch at the ABC Commissary in MGM where I continue not to be impressed. I had a burger there and I just did not like it. Something about these burgers are tough and gristly. I don't think we will be going back there unless we just have to.

Late dinner at Earl of Sandwhich where we shared a CS meal. The full montague, a cherry coke from the fountain, and a big cookie. I did find it out that chips weren't included but honestly didn't care enough to ask. We will be going back there for a cheap lunch or dinner if we have to pay out of pocket.

Day 4

We grabbed a quick breakfast snack in the food court because we were running late for our meeting with the DVC. After finishing up finally with the DVC, we went to the MK where we had burgers at Cosmic Rays. We love the toppings bar there. Usually we eat here at least once. Best burgers there I think.

Dinner was at Liberty Tree Tavern. This is my dh's fav place to eat. I love everything but the bbq meat whatever it is. That's just not my thing but the rest was great even the cherry cobbler and I don't like cherry anything. The waiter wasn't all that helpful or excited as some other people we saw but he was for the most part efficient.

Now I know at some point in here we also had burger at the Pop food court but I couldn't honestly tell you when. We used 2 snack on mickey bars and the night before we left I used the rest on three mickey rice krispy treats, two bananas, and an orange juice so we would have some kind of breakfast for our early morning before our flight. We did not use 1 TS meal or 1 CS meal. Some people are right about it being alot of food but I don't think you should eat all that if you don't want to. Just tell them you don't want the dessert at a CS or whatever. When we go back, whenever that is and if the dining plan is offered, I know we will be using it. Our thing was to share a TS meal mid day and then share another TS meal later in the day at somewhere different so you could try different places.

I hope that this sounds okay and sorry that it is so long but like I said I"m new at this. If you have questions, I'll try my best to answer them. Have a good evening.

You did a great job with your reviews. I enjoyed them very much. Thanks for taking the time to post them.

You did great job,I wish I could make my reviews 1/2 as good as yours and I would be happy. They were very informative and well written, thank you for posting.I enjoyed reading them :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

:cheer2: Great reviews! Makes me hungry for Disney food all over again :)

Thanks so much for sharing, great job!! I really enjoyed them. More importantly Thank your DH for keeping us all a little safer and thank you for your sacrifice in letting him do it> :flower:

Very good reviews but I have a question about something besides food. I am interested in what went wrong with the magical express. I noticed you said you got in at 11:30 and that is the exact time our flight arrives and I am really hoping it doesn't take till 2 pm to get to the hotel!! My husband will never let me live it down since I have talked him out of the rental car!

Thanks!

Same thing here!! We are landing @ 11:58am. Please tell us what happened! I still have my reservation at the airport...if ever we change our minds!

Thanks for the review.I love reading them.I will be using the dining plan next week and may attempt a review. :)

Great reviews! I am glad you enjoyed 1900 Park Fare - my DH requested to see Alice and Mary Poppins so we are trying it next (he requested the princesses last time, of course, and has a picture with Jasmine with this big goofy grin on his face!) and it's been years since I've been so I wondered how the food was.

We have a late breakfast too, we don't do mornings ;)

We landed right on time into MCO but unfourtnately so did everyone else apparently. After we took the little train thing to the other terminal and went go down to the first level I checked us in while my Matt stood with our carry on luggage. The line just to check in was pretty long but plenty of people working the desk. After checking in, you go across to the lines where people are sectioned according to what hotel they are staying at. We stayed at Pop and did not get on a bus until 12:45 or so. It was just standing standing with tons of other people around you and little ones having meltdowns. Finally, after we got on the bus (I have no idea how that stupid system works) the bus driver clearly stated he thought he would start at Pop dropping people off but then decided to start at Caribbean Beach, then AKL, and then Pop. After standing in the line to check in, it was just about 2:30 p.m. I haven't decided if I would take the ME again or not. On TH 1 Sept our flight was scheduled to leave 6:30 a.m. and we had to be in front of Pop for pick up at 3:40 a.m. If we take ME again, I will not book the first plane home like I normally do. Honestly since we don't stop at the grocery store or have children I don't think it is a big deal to wait or get up early but I could see issues if it was a crowded season or I had small kids. Hope I made sense with all this.

Thanks for writing the reviews! I'm really looking forward to that Cheese soup!

Thanks for the reviews, I enjoyed hearing about your trip. Would you offer your opinion on POP? We are staying there for about 1/2 our stay and have never stayed there before. Looking forward to it. Any big pros or cons or room suggestions? Thanks!! :wave2:

This was our first stay at Pop also. We thought it was okay. It's really spread out to be honest. We stayed in the 80's section, which we liked because it was close to the bus pickup. Honestly, I can see how it would appeal to children and for the price it can't be beat but it's a long bus ride away from most things. Also, though the rooms were fine I did think that the walls were a bit thin because I could hear toilets flushing and the occasional voice from another room. I hope you have a wonderful stay.

Really enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.
