First return since childhood, first PTR and several other firsts too! Who wants in?

Hi! I hope you don't mind me joining in? We're going a couple of weeks after you this year, so thought it would be fun to share our plans together!!:goodvibes You guys make an adorable couple and congrats on the recent house purchase!!!! Can't wait to hear/see more!!

Welcome aboard! Are you going to do PTR of your own? Where are you travelling from?

Question to all readers - Is it worth me making ADR's? I wont eat on site everyday, with not staying on site. As a result of this, I'll have to phone several times at the 90 day mark for each ADR. I have read these horror stories of killer wait times on the phone. Well callin from the UK to the US for up to an hour several times over 2 weeks doesn't seem all that worth it! Particuarly as there is only 2 of us going. Would wait times be that bad for 2 of us?

Thanks!!:goodvibes I'm not sure, yet, just finishing my last TR now, thinking about it but thought it was too soon, but now that you're working on yours, maybe I will! I'll let you know. It's fun to pass the time by doing so though!! I'm traveling from Massachusetts (only a 3 hour flight) to Orlando, how long is your flight?

I would make your ADR's for sure, especially if you're wanting to eat at some of the hot spots, you know?:confused3 As soon as you hit 90 days, you can make all your ADR's at once, you won't have to call back every day to do them. It's 90 days from the start of your trip. I had a very nice CM explain that to me last year when doing my first family trip. Hope this helps!!

I thought that rule only applied to those staying on site? A perk for them?

My flight is about 9 hours (I think).

As it stands I'd only want to make ADR's for in park restaurants. Dont fancy travelling all around the resorts. Too much to discover in the parks seeing as we've not been for ages!

Hmm, I'm sorry, maybe you're right? Worth looking into though for sure. Sorry I wasn't much help. I'm with you, I'd rather eat in the parks, as well then travel around to the resorts for meals. It's a lot of work to be on the park, catch all sorts of transportation to eat and then go back to a park, unless you're done for the day.

9 Hours...ugh!!! Hope you can sleep on the plane!;)

9 Hours...ugh!!! Hope you can sleep on the plane!;)

I just got back from Kenya late last year which was an 8 hour flight. Coming hom, I fell asleep before take off and when I woke up (I had a window seat, I could see the London Eye as we made our dessent). I kid you not! I missed duty free, drinks, 2 meals without even stirring! lol

Only Disney restaurants we want to eat at is Rainforest Cafe (the AK one), T-Rex, Crystal Palace and Garden Grill. Is it even worth bothering with ADR's?

I'm pretty sure you'd want to make ADRs for FF & CP. Not so sure about T-Rex & RFC.

Gee, don't ya wanna eat at the Rose & Crown? :rotfl: That's like me going to London & eating at a KFC!

Too funny about sleeping through all of that on the plane, good for you!! I'm impressed, there is no way I could do that!!

I'm pretty sure you'll need a ressie for Crystal Palace and Rainforest, not sure about the rest, but since T-Rex is one of the newer ones, possibly? It's been awhile since I've traveled with just two of us (the last two trips we did were with out kiddos) , so not really sure. I'm sure some of the places you could probably get in pretty easy or at least sit at the bar....popcorn::

If you want to eat at T-Rex I am hearing that you definitely need a ressie, although I am also hearing that you cannot make this through the Disney Dining Reservations, you have to call the restaurant directly. Just a heads up! :)

Here is the # for T-Rex, I'm giving them a call today for my next trip. (407)828-8739.

You'll def want to make ADRs since presumably you'll be going during 'free dining' time (if they open this up to everyone) and all eating places will be booked.

I've enjoyed the start to your PTR! You and Felicity do make a lovely couple. I can't believe how much travelling you have done. Sooo jealous!

Thanks guys! Will def make ADR's when it gets to 'that time'!

All this waiting around for stuff to happen! I dont know....

I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to get through to make ADRs. :thumbsup2

I wish I could sleep on an airplane. We flew back and forth a few times to Australia with three young children so sleeping wasn't very possible for me. :sad2: And that was a 14 hour flight!

Just wanted to say welcome to the boards - I saw your post on my triprep and figured I'd check yours out too - I'm really enjoying it! :) And YAY you're a 'local' to me...well kinda (I teach in Manchester):woohoo:. Anyway, don't ever think you love disney too much - Walt made Disney for adults too and there are a LOT of male fans! You two make a really cute couple btw:hug:. Good luck with the planning I look foward to seeing the triprep when you get back. Oh and if you're ever in the Trafford store (after Monday) say hi to my pal Caroline...she's just transferred stores and is part of the management there. She's a sweetie and she used to work in WDW!!!! :cheer2:

Haha! Thanks for dropping by! Your TR has been a great read so far!

I have slacked on my PTR lately. Kinda unsure what to do having not done one before...and it seems to be soooo far away! lol

Hey Ryan! I was looking back through my PTR (it's slow, slow, slow at work!) and saw that you've started one too! I had to check it out! Felicity is beautiful. I can't wait to hear all about your plans!

Great start with the PTR :thumbsup2

You and Felicity make a gorgeous couple, congratulations on the house purchase :) sounds like you have been on some fab trips.

Hey Ryan! Just checkin' in and seeing how your plans are coming! Hope you and Felicity are both doing well!
