First Reservation! YAY!

We closed last week on some SSR points and I took a chance and called today to see if we were in the system and WE WERE! I made my first reservation for a 2 bedroom lock-off in December. I'm hoping my in-laws who live in Florida will be able to join us for a couple of nights. On the nights they are not there, I figure my 18 year old will enjoy the privacy of his own "studio." I requested the Grandstand area after reading lots of comments on here. I wanted to be relatively close to the main pool and also have easy access to DTD. Is this a good location for that? We will have a car, so being close to the bus stops is not an issue.
I also wait listed for 3 nights in a studio at HHI for July. I knew it was a looong shot to get a room there in July at this short notice, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Who knows... maybe we'll get lucky!
I also have to say that the MS person I spoke with could not have been nicer, helping me understand how to get through my first reservation. She made me feel right at "home!"

Congratulations! And Welcome Home! If you don't mind my asking, how many days did you wait between closing and calling? We're close to being in the same position and I don't want to pester MS with phone calls once we're closed.

We closed exactly a week ago. I called once over the weekend and we were not in the system yet. I was worried about being a pest, too! The e-mail we got from the TimeShare Store said it might take until the 28th, but we were there today. I was told I couldn't get access to the member site until April, but the woman in MS gave me our membership number over the phone.

My wife and I have stayed at SSR on several occasions and, if I'm not mistaken, the Grandstand is close to the main pool (and has a nice pool of its own w/bar), but is not particularly close to DDT. Others may correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for the info. We sent our closing docs off yesterday via FedEx so hopefully we'll close in the next day or two.
