I've lurked on these boards for years but I've finally created my own account to ask an important question --- just got back from a 5 day stay at the Disneyland Hotel and 5 days of park hopping with my DH (not Disney obsessed but loved his first trip in 10 years) and with our two girls 6 and 2.

We are considering another trip very soon. Neither DH or myself has ever been to a Halloween party or Christmas party at Disneyland. I've often seen how crazy everyone describes this time of year.

DH is likely getting a bonus and he wants me to ask if it's possible to do a VIP tour during the party? If so are we looking at $550 an hour or so? Does the minimum 6 hours apply? We won't stay at Disney for as long (looking at 2 days MAYBE 3) but he enjoyed touring with fast pass and early entry and was wondering if a VIP tour would make it easy enough to do everything during a Halloween or Christmas party.

I'm sure "worth it" is relative but DH is willing to use his bonus if it means more access in a quicker time frame. He doesn't really want to do the party 2 or 3 days in a row unless it's the only way to see and do everything.

Thanks for your input!

Just as an FYI the Christmas parties are ONLY AT WDW. It's a beautiful time but wanted you to be aware.

There are no Christmas parties at Disneyland, so you should be able to schedule a VIP tour at any time during the Christmas holiday season if you were to go during that period.

Not sure if you are able to schedule a VIP tour during the Halloween parties.

My guess is that you will not be able to schedule a VIP tour during party hours. I also don't think that would be the best use of the party time anyway. And as was noted, as this time there is only a Halloween Party at Disneyland. That's not to say that a Holiday/Christmas party won't be added at some point (I expect it to happen in the next few years.)

I don't think they have VIP tours during Halloween parties. Like the other posters above said, there are no Christmas parties at Disneyland.

I've been telling everyone this lately (lol!) but I totally think that the Halloween parties are worth it! They're so much fun!

Even if VIP tours were offered during the Halloween party, it wouldn't be worth it. Most rides have a short wait time during the Halloween parties anyway and I don't think you would get priority for the trick-or-treating lines. If you wanted to do a VIP tour, I would do it during regular park hours on the busiest day that you are there to maximize your tour and get the most "bang for your buck".

In general Halloween season and Christmas season are wonderful times to see the parks. The decor and rides are up always, not just during nighttime parties. During the Haloween party evenings they added more Villains to the parks and trick or treat trails and guests can dress up. (With all the construction this year we don't know what they're doing yet but as soon as word hits the Halloween Thread here in the DIS will light up with info I'm sure!) You could still VIP tour earlier in the day, before the Halloween party. And you would get so much done, I'm sure the VIP tours put FP to shame! As already stated there aren't Christmas parties but we went the week before Christmas last year for our first Holiday trip and we were astonished. Pictures don't do it justice. They do an AMAZING job, it's decorated like a Christmas party almost everywhere you go in the parks! A VIP tour during Christmas time would be absolutely magical*! (*I think, never been on one but I remember seeing one done on a TV special once! I'm sure a call to Disneyland guest relations can get any VIP tour questions answered quickly.) OH- and :welcome: out from lurker status!
