So, the graduation fairy brought me a lovely new kit and I love it so much! Here are a few pictures I have taken so far (taking it to WDW in a week!)

I'm not, to my knowledge, getting any photo gear for Christmas. My seven year old is getting a Canon D10 tomorrow. I'll post one of his shots tomorrow.

I almost blew it big time. I was setting up the camera because I wanted him to be able to use it right after opening it. When I thought I was pressing the button to turn it off, I accidentally snapped a photo of my wife wrapping all the "Santa" gifts. I hope he's not smart enough to unformat the card tomorrow before he takes any pictures.

PS - If you are giving someone a camera as a present, open the package and charge the battery first. No one wants to wait on a battery to charge when they get a camera.

Thanks guys! Uh oh...my dad is getting an Olympus waterproof camera tomorrow...I hope he doesn't mind waiting for the battery to charge!

For the HDR I used Photomatix and Unified Color and blended the results, then did Topaz Adjust over it. That's my usual HDR routine. I always align in Photoshop first because it's almost always accurate that way.
