First Permits Filed for Rumored Water Park Location

I'm not sure I understand this move.

From what I've heard, Universal already owns Wet 'n Wild, and has plans to connect it with the rest of the Universal Orlando resort. This new water park would be right near Wet 'N Wild. What's the point of having two different water parks right near each other?

We don't know the long term plans for Wet 'n Wild. I assumed that it would be removed and that land would be turned into a 3rd gate.

1. The park would be within walking distance of Cabana Bay, Sapphire Falls, and Royal Pacific. Seems like a no brainer to me with such a large captive audience already onsite.

2. Wet n Wild will probably not exist 10 years from now. Universal is fine with them coexisting for a little while, while the Wondersea brand is built.

3. This park will blow away any other water park previously built. Jim Hill has speculated on a $250 million dollar budget which is astronomical for a theme park(plus, Universal doesn't have the ridiculous cost overruns that Disney has so the 250 is that much more impressive).

4. Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon have no problem co-existing.

First Jaws, now Wet'n Wild? Didn't they just build a new kids area anyway?

Too small for a park.
Wet n Wild is only 30 acres. Figure maybe double with support and parking. . . . . just my opinion

All I want is a Jaws themed section for this new water park.
Just make a section of the beach look like the Amity Beach.
An occasional fin popping out of the water would be awesome too.
Heck bring back a jaws ride and make it a flume boat ride where you can get soaked.

Im just a bit of a Jaws fan.
