First or second week of December to tour?

December 2nd-6th or December 9th-13th? Which time frame could be the better of the two regarding touring the parks?

In a normal year, the earlier in December the better/lower crowds will be. If it were me going, I’d choose December 2nd. This year, there will likely be more people around the Christmas holiday but still within the crowd limitations in place due to park pass.

Given the current crowd levels, I doubt either week will be extremely busy. We liked the first week until they started adding more events during that time (National Dance, Cheer, etc).
This year, thats not a problem.

I've been there for about 10 years for the whole month of December. I actually would choose whichever dates your more comfortable with. I actually don't believe there's any difference in that time frame. It really starts getting hectic about the 20th or so.

I’d pick Dec 9-13. Then I could spend Christmas holidays in quarantine and not have to miss as much work.

We've done that 2nd week in Dec twice, back in 2017 we tried to do the first week of Dec but since we were renting DVC points and that week coincided with the annual meeting we couldn't find any availability for where we wanted to stay that week, but the 2nd week had availability so we were good. As far as crowds, never had a single issue during those times when we went before. This year we will be there the 1st week of Dec, immediately after Thanksgiving but I'm not anticipating crowd issues due to lower attendance due to COVID. Honestly this if my favorite time to visit WDW, lower crowds (for WDW normally), great weather, holiday decorations, all good!

Many people are going that first week, well, many here on the DIS and in social media groups. Granted, we are a small fraction here but the first week seems to be more popular with the people "in-the-know".

This will be my second time going the first week of Dec - I really liked the lower crowds at that time

I think either week is fine.
We'll be there Dec 1-13 this year

We went the second week of Dec. In 2018. First time, and last time. Never again for us! Just too busy. The way things are now who knows but I'm guessing even with limited capacity everything is relative.
