Hello all! I've missed being on the boards and talking to all my Dis friends. Unfortunately, we had some family things going on this past year and had to cancel this past summer's Disney trip. But we're back on for next summer!

We are taking my sister-in-law and her husband and daughter. Our niece will be a senior in high school and has never been to WDW. I'd like to plan one character meal for her, so she can experience it (she's the fun lovin' type!) - but the rest of us want good food! We've always done Garden Grill, but the last time we went it wasn't that great.

Any ideas? I don't want "real people" characters - just the big puffy ones.

Thanks! It's great to be back.

My teens LOVE the Crystal Palace - mostly for the food, but also for the atmosphere.

:goodvibes Hi Harambe!

Chef Mickey's breakfast has always been my favorite! It just screams "DISNEY" as it is located in the bright Contemporary, with the monorail going by. Plenty of "puffy" characters and napkin twirling, and the food is good, too!

I also like Crystal Palace, but CM's is the #1 favorite in our household! I have never had dinner there, so I cannot speak for that.

Hope this helps and welcome back to the DIS!

I was going to say either breakfast (Mad Hatter) or dinner (the Stepsisters) at 1900 PF would work well for a teen, but with this constraint....I'd probably go with Chef M's too.

For a teenage girl who's never been to WDW, CRT! I dreamed of eating there from my 1st visit, until I finally got to. I think all girls dream of being a princess living in a castle.

I would go with CM's or CP also if you don't want real people characters. We had a blast at both and breakfast at CP was outstanding and dinner at CM's was fantastic! :goodvibes

Thanks guys!

I'm leaning toward Chef Mickey's (I'm not a big fan of the food, but some in the party are not adventurous eaters), because of Mickey. CP doesn't have Mickey, right?

I also just remembered that we can have our picture taken as a group at CM, which would be nice.

Thanks again.

I would recommend LTT for dinner. The food was food and the character interaction was great when we visited.:)

I vote for Crystal Palace. Its a more grown up location but has the Pooh characters. Try to find out though who she likes - then go with whatever place they will be. Then she is guaranteed to have fun with the characters. My 15yo DD hates characters (freaks in animal suits) but couldnt help but smile when we were at CP and they came around. They 'forced' her to take pics with them and her smile was real.

We love Going to O'hanas Breakfast because it has Lilo and Stitch
and is located at the POLY. Love the Theme of the restaurant
which has a good view of MK and food is good also.
Because we can't afford to stay at the POLY we like to visit,
eat there and take a look around (like touring other resorts--for fun!).
O'hanas is also easy to get to on the Monorail and after Breakfast
take Monorail either to MK or Epcot for the Day!
My DS is 12yrs--not quiet a Teen but he still loves it.
I love any Character Meal,
I think they are all Good but it's nice to have food that take good also.
I didn't get to go to WDW until I was an Adult with a Kid and I was Smitten
by the Disney Bug and love it!
Have a Fun Trip!

Breakfast at CP is nice. We had 8am seating and were able to get pictures of a n empty (almost) mainstreet. I also love LTT since I love Chip and Dale

Welcome back, Harambe! My wife and I like the Cape May Cafe's character breakfast. We don't have the children with us anymore, but we still like the food and watching the character interaction. I think that you'll like it.

We had breakfast at Akershus (Norway at Epcot) for the first time in November. "We" were 3 adult females and we had the time of our life! The food was excellent (regular breakfast food served family style). We got our picture with Belle and then Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Mary Poppins, and Jasmine stopped by our table for autographs & pictures. Also, when we were there I noticed not only little kids, but lots of teens too.

Just a thought for something a bit different.
