We are staying at the GC. This is our first trip to DL, so I was wondering what you could suggest for our first night on property. I was thinking of pool time and maybe going to CA, then dinner. We are planning to spend next day at DL. Thank you for the input!

Alot of it depends what time you get there and whether or not you'll be doing parks when ya get there-

If you are playin in the parks then Id do either DCA or DL if not then Id do the pool thing and maybe a dinner at a resort (ie Goofys etc) and cruise Downtown Disney-

It all depends on how much time you have at Disneyland itself. If you are going during the week, a full day at DL might be enough and you can do DCA on the first night, depending on how late it is open. If you have any time restrictions on our Disneyland day, then you should skip DCA and spend some of your first night at DL as well.

You can always leave DL during the day for a couple of hours to enjoy the pools at the hotel and return back to the park later. Remember that Downtown Disney is open quite late, so you can go there after the parks close.

And remember to ride the Matterhorn.

We ususally arrive in Anaheim between 1pm - 3pm. We generally will go to the hotel, settle in and then head to the parks for the night. We usually end up at DCA but head over to DL for Dinner (Rancho in Frontierland). The first day we usually leave to go back to the hotel early, about 8pm, since we will have be up since 3AM.

Thanks everyone for the info.

And to ex DS vet - thanks for this info and reading my other post!

I think I am convinced to give it a try!:sunny:

Another option is to explore the grounds around the DL Hotel.. look at the falls, the walkways, gardens, pool, Koi fish, motorboats. At night watch the dancing waters fountain show.

If you have a chance walk on over to DL hotel in the early morning to help feed the Koi. (There is a sign near the Koi pool with feeding times listed)
They have you step out on a platform over the pond. Give you the food and have you kneel down .. the Koi will eat right out of your hand!
My boys were very impressed , it was a highlight of that trip two yrs ago.
Good thing to do while waiting for your seating time at Goofy's.
