First Night There - What to do?

We are doing chef mickey's at the Contemporary (we're staying a WL) and then riding the monorail

Our first night we always take a monorail ride and visit some of the resorts. Many of the resorts have people in the lobby entertaining kids. My DH and I sit back, have a drink, check out the pools and sometimes check out the rooms. We'll visit downtown disney too. Last week I was on my own. I drove over the AKL, walked out the back and watched some of the animals. The kids would have enjoyed that as well but this was a solo trip!
