I'm looking for recommendations for our first night at Disney. We'll be arriving too late to go into the parks so I was thinking of dinner at one of the resorts. We've been to Ohana and liked it but we'd like to try something different. I tried Chef Mickey's but they are filled already. I would like something where we could also then just go outside and see the fireworks. There are two kids and it would be fun to have characters but not necessary. Any recommendations? Thanks.

With two girls you may like to try the" new" dinner at 1900 Park Faire with Cinderella, the Prince and the stepsisters? I have been to the dinner buffet there and it was always good. Have Fun!! Joan (or if everyone is too tired for a sit down dinner, the Food Court in the back of the GF serves some decent food and faces the Castle for viewing the fireworks!!)

I would suggest that you keep trying for reservations at Chef Mickey's. People cancel reservations all of the time, and I have always had luck getting the reservation I want there with a little persistence. Good luck!

we do cheif mickey's on our first night then go to the top of the cr and watch the fireworks . gets everyone in the disney mood. great food and a great time ... if you can't get a ps try 2 days before the date you want i have had goog luck getting ps at cindy's and cheif mickey's that way ..

I haven't done it yet but we are in the same situation. I have ressies at 1900 Park Fare and than we are going to resort hope to catch the Electric Water Parade.

My family laughs, but I say why waste a Disney minute!

Good luck
Sandy

For two girls defintely the new Cinderella dinner at GF.

I think the Cinderella Dinner at GF would be perfect too...

I am not sure where you are staying though. If you are at an Epcot resort, a dinner at Cape May and then a stroll over to the bridge between the Boardwalk and the Beach Club to view Illuminations might be nice also...

Can you please tell me what time to make the reservations for Chef Mickey's in order to view the fireworks??

We want to eat CM's on Saturday May, 17. I called Disney and they cannot tell me what time the fireworks start on that date.

Also can you tell me specifically where to go to view the fireworks??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The other option you have is Downtown Disney..... The Rainforest Cafe is great for kids, but the wait times are long and they don't take Priority Seating. All of the toy stores (especially the lego store) and all there is to see and do is a nice way to start your WDW vacation! There are many other restaurants at Downtown Disney, but I think RFC is the most kid-friendly.

This is for crusin'minnie

As far as what time to book for chief mickey's it deends on what time the fireworks are. I would make your ps for 1:30 to 1:45 before the fireworks are set to start . As far a viewing the the best place is on the top floor you have to walk thru the california grill to get to the observation deck it is a great view... hope this helps
