First night dinner/lunch

My husband and I decided to show up for our trip one day early on 10/18 and are booking a night at Pop prior to our week at the Poly. Our family will be arriving around 1-2. We won't have our tickets until 10/19, so we were thinking downtown Disney. I was thinking wolfgang puck express for a late lunch followed by ghiradelli's. Any thoughts or ideas? We were going to try for a reservation at Boma, but I though everyone might be too tired or stressed from driving and DTD would be more relaxed.

Traveling is tiring! I think your idea of DTD is great...gets you in the DISNEY mood, but will get you into bed for that early morning wake up for the rest of your trip!!! Boma's is a very crowded buffet.

We are going to the HDDR for our first night. We will not be going to the parks on that day. We are going to the 7:30 show and then heading back to the room to rest up for a full day the next day.

We were in the exact same position last year and we had dinner at Boma and really enjoyed it. AKL is a beautiful resort with a great gift shot for browsing. To top it all off, Boma is our favourite buffet at WDW.
