First night activities

We are swimming when we get there but I don't know what we will do after. My husband would like espn club but I feel that it is a little mean not to do something the kids would love after driving 16 hrs.

When we bring first-timers we often eat at Boma on the first night and they are always wow-ed by the AKL lobby and seeing the animals outside the hotel. We like to schedule arrival at AKL just before sunset so guests can get a good view of the animals and of the exterior of AKL. Of course it helps if you also like the great food at Boma!

Thank you Jim that is much appreciated my oldest daughter and my wife love the show so I want to order it for them maybe OI will send the 2 of them for the night on our next trip and I will stay with the other 2.

A Whispering Canyon cafe dinner is sure to be fun! Then you can also stop and watch the geyser go off and park it on the WL beach for the Electrical light Pagent.

We had such a terrific response from several of our DK & DIL's that we either do a fireworks cruise, celebrating a birthday or we go to Hoop De Do Review. Either one is best with a large group of 10 or so and both have been big hits. After that we relax and do whatever, even splitting up to do different things but the "family fun day" that we have a tradition of since our kids were toddlers has been set and everyone is ready to enjoy a week of excitement and sharing....on the few occasions we did not do this it seemed like things didn't get off to the the same kind of uptempo start.

I know these are expensive, but even starting at ESPN for the great hot dogs and fun on the boardwalk can be a great "1st nite" for anyone. I think it is mostly in how you approach it. I've found that happiness and excitement are very contagious and giving it a name like "family fun day" and hinting but not telling along the plan combined with your pleasure of sharing will probably make them feel special and enjoy the evening immensely.

Enjoy!

Last time we went to DTD to do a little looking around and we went over to the Boardwalk. It was a great way to get everyone in the Disney mood. We will do that again this time, especially since we will be at BWV. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Toward the end of the show, right after she announced "Bouncy bounce" as the powertrack number started, the gentleman next to me asked, "How many times has she SEEN this show?!"

What a great way to kick off a great trip!

The first night - if we aren't at Prime Time Diner or dashing into MK to get something from the bakery we are drinking on the verandah...
