Rope dropping the bathrooms is probably a better move than the People Mover. I imagine the line gets longer!
I thought I wanted to hear about dumb rope drop choices, but now they just make me feel sad! I think the CM was probably right to do some shaming... Really, go ride ANYTHING else, this is walk on pretty much 24/7!
For our trip this June, I guess we have less than popular RD choices for some reason. For our 3 days, Jungle Cruise, Speedway/Princesses, and Buzz. Between FP and EMM, we're doing everything we want plenty of times. Because we have 3 year olds, with the FP/rider swap combo, we decided to go a lot of the mountains/7D with FP, so we're rope dropping things we can all do. I'm surprised Jungle Cruise is so low, because I think it's a pretty fair choice. The line is intolerable within an hour of opening, so it's either that or FP it. We've never done that before, but it makes sense to me this time!

I’m very surprised how many votes btmr got! I’ve never thought to rd it because we always get so many rides on it at the end of the night.

One good thing about BTMR at rope drop is that it is a quick attraction. The strategy to get many quickie attractions done at rope drop like Big Thunder, Peter Pan's Flight or Space Mountain out of the way first is good so you can continue hitting multiple attractions in that precious first hour. Some rides like Splash, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, and POTC are decent choices, but take at least 15-20 minutes from enter to exit even without waits.

We usually rd 7dmt, Peter Pan, and the rest of fantasyland. If it’s an emh morning, we do fantasyland and then wait by Liberty square for that side of the park to open and head to btmr.

It depends on the day.

If we are with my son it's always Splash.

Next trip we have a few days in MK. One day we are going straight to Frontierland and doing Splash. The next time we are going to Tomorrowland and doing Space, then Buzz and going from there.

We've done similar. I like the EMH at MK for the double rope drop opportunity!

Buzz has become our tradition followed by SM. I don't ride SM so I go on People Mover while the others do Space. It probably isn't the most efficient but it is our thing. FWIW we don't have to ride PP, we do if it works on a trip but not a must do for us anymore.

Riding Pirates first is my tradition. After that I do Splash and Big Thunder. Then I try to get on Haunted Mansion and whatever else I can do!
Yes we are the same. We always start counter clock-wise going to Adventureland first. Pirates first, then BTMRR, then either TSI or HM before we move on to Fantasyland.

.

I love BTMR RD. We usually ride it 2 or 3 times as a walk on and then hit Splash. I don't like to ride it at night and I love how quiet Frontierland is first thing and I don't have to deal with the chaos of Fantasyland before my coffee has kicked in. We've done 6 different rides as our first RD choice and BTMR is my favorite.

(actually it was more like a slow motion dive to block them from the entrance while yelling Noooooooooooooo!)

I have to do that with People Mover with my family. I totally get the slow motion dive!

That said. Not only are we planning to do Talking Mickey at RD but we also have a 9:00 FP for it. Yes, you can point and laugh. But last year there was a 40 min wait for TM at RD the day we went so we had to double back later in the day which I don't like doing since Main Street is out of the way. I don't want to repeat that since this will be our last chance to talk with him.

We always do multiple days at MK, allowing us to spread FPs around. And, we don't feel the need to duplicate rides on a trip. As a result, we like to do Buzz first, since it's a ride that has longer lines later in the day, but is not FP worthy. After that, it's Speedway, Teacups, Space FP, the rest of Tomorrowland, and then either PP or SDMT FP. Fantasyland is late night for us. Adventureland/Frontierland is a totally separate day.

Interesting. I find doing 2 or 3 days of MK allows for a lot of repeat rides. Of course, having little kids for swap passes also helps with that. This should be our last year of doing that!

My kids love multiple rides on BTMRR, so we RD that, then Jungle, then pirates. Then we hit BTMRR eight before close because the kids love it at night too

Another vote for Peter Pan! It is DW's favorite ride at MK.

I think once we rope dropped 7DMT just to experience it. We are not roller coaster people.

We'll be at MK for 3 rope drops on our next trip. Our first 3 rides will be...

On the first one we'll ride BTMRR 2X before heading over to HM

On the second, an EMH morning, we'll ride Buzz a couple times before heading over to Pooh

And on the third, we'll ride Jungle Cruise, Magic Carpets, and Pirates

I usually turn left and go straight to Frontierland to ride BTMRR, then I trail back to Adventureland and ride Pirates, Haunted Mansion and then it's time to use our FP+ at Fantasyland and Tomorrownland (almost always 7D and Buzz).

2016 we rope dropped Buzz and went twice in an row. Fun start to the trip!
2017 one day we had a PPO BOG breakfast then rope dropped 7DMT. The other MK morning, we rope dropped Peter Pan as we had not seen the standby queue.
This year, we will rope drop BTMRR and hopefully get 2 or 3 rides in before moving on.

I'm thinking this year we'll do PP first and then head over to Space Mountain, I think we can get thru PP a little quicker. After Space we'll do Buzz and then maybe Pooh or Dumbo and hopefully have time to do POTC and maybe even JC before we get to our 10:30 FP for BTMRR (followed by Splash FP) so actually I wouldn't want to get to BTMRR at the beginning of the window anyways - maybe we'll actually get it all in. It is an 8am open day - just need to get the teens up and moving early.
