My 6 year old just lost her first tooth. And when I say lost, I mean LOST!

She came running in from the other room "Mommy! My tooth finally fell out!" So I asked where it was and I got "I don't know! It's gone! Will I still get a dollar from the tooth fairy?"

SO now I have to find a single AND a tooth! EW!

I have talked one of my friends into "being the tooth fairy." I have her number in my phone under the alias of "Azriel", Tinkerbell's cousin. So that way my kids get to text the tooth fairy and let them know about their lost teeth, and she texts back! In character of course.

This way is something unexpected happens (like a lost tooth!) they can text Azriel and explain so that they can get reassurance that they still get their cash.

I told her I'm sure she can write the tooth fairy a note and as soon as we find it mommy will send it to her.

My main concern is the baby finding it and swallowing it. GAG!

I swallowed a tooth as a kid. And we lost our DD's tooth one time. She lost her first one while drinking a bottle of water and somehow it ended up in the bottle. I strained it out, put it in a baggy and promptly misplaced the baggy. Oops. We wrote the note blaming mommy.

For those that swallow teeth, my note as a child read "I swallowed my tooth. It's in my tummy. Please leave me some money." :goodvibes I was in second grade and my parents trotted it out for me when they were moving a few years ago. My dad kept it all these years. They felt I should have been a poet. :lmao:

My dd was playing with it in her mouth, I know ewww gross. I kept telling her to take it out of her mouth or she was going to swallow it.

Sure enough....gulp. OH boy did she cry. She had been waiting on that tooth to come out.

That's what I always had my DD do when she couldn't find her tooth (write a note). Swallowing a tooth is very "normal" and will not harm her.

I don't mean I'm worried about HER swallowing it. I'm worried about my 11 month old who crawls all over creation swallowing it.

I know it won't HURT him, but the thought of it makes me physically ill. Swallowing someone ELSE'S tooth! EWWWWWWWWWWW
