First look

DF and I are very private people, so I thought a "first look" would be a good idea.

I was wondering if you girls could give me suggestions about how to arrange this before the ceremony (@ the WP).

My daughter and her husband to be actually had their "first look" while taking the formal pictures before the ceremony. The photographer caught the moment when he first saw her in her gown, that is something I think you would want in your pictures, is the look on his face when he sees you for the first time as a bride.

I'm not exactly sure how the WP is laid out, but your photographer should have some good ideas.

Perhaps something could be organised in one of the vestibules?

My main thought would be that it would be hard to get a private first look at the WP before the ceremony, because I would imagine all the guests would already be there...

Hmmm we are planning on having our "First Look" at the hotel, we are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and taking several bridal portraits there before leaving for the WP so it works out for us.

I am sure there are ways to make it work at the WP though!

Thanks so much for the quick replies! It's given me some options to think about, but now I have a few more questions....

If we did our first look at our hotel, how long would you suggest we allow for that and pictures? (Would 30 minutes be enough?) If you did this or are planning to do this, did you then take the limo together to the ceremony site?

Also, what time would you suggest getting to the WP before the ceremony (assuming we do the first look at the hotel)?

Our first look itself took about 45 seconds! Then we took some pix together around the lobby of the hotel before getting in the limo to go to the ceremony together. I'd say we spent about 15 minutes, and that was only because I thought we were waiting for our wedding coordinator - otherwise, we would have gone straight to Epcot!

I would double check with your fiance. I love the idea of one, but DF is very adamant that he wants to see me for the first time when I'm walking down the aisle. It's one of the few things he feels so strongly about so I'm giving it to him.

not sure about the WP but we are doing ours in the GF. I am going to come down the stairs and df will have his back to me and then turn around as I am descending. i think it will look beautiful and so excited for it! It should be about a minute and then you can go and take your pictures together before the ceremony.

Maybe it would be a good idea to do it at the Grand Floridian since you will probably be there anyway before your ceremony at the WP. You could talk to your Wedding Planner and Photographer and plan to come down the staircase where he sees you for the first time. Romantic!
