First Haircut??

I would like to know if my grandson qualifies for a "first haircut" at the MK on Main Street. He's 20 months old and has never had an official haircut by a barber, but has had several haircuts from his mom. Do you think that he can still do the cut and get all of the fun stuff that comes with it??? Oh and what does it cost or is it free? Thanks!!!
PS. The fun stuff is Mouse ears and a certificate. Right???

DH & DS16 had their haircuts done the 1st week of this Dec.
While waiting we were treated to seeing 2 young boys get their 1st official haircuts--yes they were free--& both children were 1 1/2 yrs to 2 yrs old. I didn't see any 'fun' stuff given away, but it could happened. both sweeties--and my guys --did get plenty of sparkly 'pixie dust'!

We had my daughter's first haircut there about 1 1/2 months ago. She was 18 months at the time. I just told the girl cutting her hair that it was her first haircut (I have trimmed her bangs before). They covered her with Mickey stickers- to keep her sitting still. At the end they gave her pink Mickey ears with First Haircut emboidered on the back, a my first haircut certificate, and they wrapped up the "cuttings" in a napkin, added some Mickey confetti, and sealed it with a Mickey sticker. It was also a great photo opportunity! The cost was $14.00 (I think- I can't believe I can't remember, it was just 6 weeks ago)- Anyway, it's the cost of a child's haircut. The extra stuff was free. We gave the girl $20.00 and told her to keep the change. Be warned that there is often a long line and the barber shop is quite small. So, be prepared to wait. I think we waited about 30-40 minutes.

We had my younger DS get his first haircut there. It is not free - it was like $14 or so. The certificate and "First Haircut" mouse ears are included w/ the cut - no additional cost for those.

As for if they'll let you do the "first haircut" deal - it probably depends on how obvious it is that he's had haircuts before. They may let you get away w/ it - they may not.

Thanks everyone. I don't mind forking over the $14.00 for his haircut. I just think it wiil be fun to take pictures and to have the ears and certificate. Oh and thanks about the warning of the possible line, which I'm sure we will have, as we are going next week. LOL!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

DD had her first haircut there last December. Although she was 3 at the time, she had never had her hair cut before. I didn't tell the hairdresser, she just ran her fingers through DD's hair and said "this is her first haircut, right?" She just knew - I guess that comes with experience!

Great photo / video ops. to be had, even for a regular haircut for any child as there was a little boy in for a trim while we were there and he still got fussed over and was sprinkled with pixie dust before he left!

DD did receive a bag with her certificate, mouse ears, stickers, pixie dust and a napkin with her first locket of hair. She also got a round of applause from all staff and customers when she was presented as having just had her first haircut!

The cost does not seem to have gone up since we were there a year ago - but we did leave a tip as the service and overall experience for DD and us as parents was fantastic!

We went to MK for opening, has a quick breakfast and went straight to the Barber Shop and there were only a few people in before us - 20 minute wait.

I think it's ok. I had cut DD's bangs before going but we still considered it her first haircut. It was lots of fun and worth it. Actually, the price for the WDW haircut was the same price I just paid at a children's hair salon in our town.
