Has anyone done this recently and has an opinion on it? Did they do a good job? I would love to do this with our 2yo girl in June, but the only reviews I can find seem to be written by bloggers who may have been “invited” to review it, or they are from a few years ago.

My 1yo DS had his first haircut there in Sept. Cute and a great deal for a really fun memory. He really just had long uneven wispy pieces to cut and they just cleaned it up into a standard boy cut. I can’t really help on the styling aspect because he didn’t need much done. We had a great time.

We did it with our little one. She was 22 months at the time and didn't have a ton of hair. They give them a light up toy and/or stickers to keep them busy. They did a good job getting her hair nice and even. I had brought a bow so she gave her a little pony tail poof to put the bow on. Then had us take a few staged pictures. It was well worth it and we plan to do it with our second daughter on our upcoming trip.

My son is 19 now but we had his first haircut done years ago when the shop was hidden in the back of a store on Main Street. He was the only person in the shop at the time and it was a fantastic experience and the best deal to be had in MK. Last year I made him go back for a haircut at age 18. Still a great experience but much more well known. A very cute set of twins getting haircuts who were not happy. I would still suggest this experience as it is one of a kind. We took many pictures both times and treasure them!

Both of my kids had their first haircut here and it was awesome. You get a mickey ear hat that says my first haircut on it and a certificate of bravery and they save the pieces of hair they cut off and wrap them up with tissue and some "pixie dust" for you to take it home in. They are great with the kids and I got some awesome pictures from it, highly recommend!

Oldest dd's hat got lost out of the stroller at some point during the day and we stopped back in and they were great and just gave us a new hat for free.

They are professional licensed barbers and will do whatever kind of cut you want. They are very sweet with the kids and good at keeping them still with stickers and toys.

DS had his first haircut (a few days after his first bday) in Nov.

It was fairly cramped inside the barber shop - I kind of felt like we were in the way, and the seating was tight, but not terrible. (I can’t remember exactly, but I think there are only three, maybe four, barbers chairs inside.) Strollers were left right outside the shop.

Like others have said, they gave the kids things to distract them (stickers, a light up spinning toy (not to keep), bubbles). DS (like all my kids) actually already had a full head of long, curly hair; he got a standard “boy” cut (scissors, not a razor) and they gave us some of his hair to keep. They also gave us a first haircut certificate (with his name and date written in by the barber) and “first haircut” Mickey ears. He and my other kids got glitter in their hair (other kids did not get cuts).

Overall, it was a good experience - DS ended up with a nice looking haircut and we were happy with the keepsakes (hair and ears). I don’t think any of the kids we saw getting cuts (maybe six altogether) cried. We’d go back for haircuts.

I agree - fantastic experience for my almost 3 year old. She didn't have much hair - or need much of a cut - but we were pleased with the experience, ears and price.

The place is busy enough and has enough exposure that I don't think that WDW invites people to review an already busy place. I think it was a good experience but this is not Vidal Sassoon. They give basic cuts that should be suitable for most kids.

My son is 4 so he's had plenty of haircuts already, but I would like for him to get one here on our Easter trip. Where do you find the information for this to get an appointment?

My son had it there in January 2016. It was great! He got mickey ears that said 'first haircut" He was 2 and still didn't have much hair so they just snipped a little and put it in a mickey bag with some glitter. my older son got a haircut too and wants to go back.

I'm holding out hope that we can wait to get our twins' first haircuts on our trip in November, so I'm glad to hear the good reviews! They will be 22 months, but their hair is already getting kind of wild, so I'm not sure if we will make it.

Definitely get an appointment. We tried walking in on a whim and even at 9:30ish they were full for the day. As others have said, it is very, very tight in there. In my head I always envisioned this place as being spacious. Nope!

You need to make an appointment within the first hour of park opening to get a spot. By the second hour it will be booked up. Just walk over to the barbershop and stand in line to make an appointment.

No need to wait til day of, unless you just want to. Appts can be booked ahead of time.

Thank you everyone! I just called and booked. They are already booking out to September so if you are going soon I would call and get that appointment! We are there mid-June and I was able to find a time I was happy with.

This is a great experience. You will love it. Yes, it is small and can get busy and cramped. Still worth it. Both my girls now (7 and 3) had their first haircuts here. We have an appointment for my son to get his this July.
