Our last touring day was in Epcot. We had a PS for the Princess Storybook Breakfast at 8:30 am. We knew we needed to get to the International Gateway entrance at about 20 minutes prior to that time. We decided to allow an extra 10 minutes. We were actually ready early and so we strolled along the Broadwalk and over to the gateway.
We had an interesting conversation with the security woman who used to sell real estate about working for WDW.
We got to Norway along with some other early bird breakfasters. My daughter, who had opted out of lugging a costume around all day, saw the make-your-own-crowns and decided that this was in order. She paid for it out of her souvenir money. She got it with a couple minutes to spare before one little girl was asked to open the place with Princess Aurora. We were seated not in the main dining room, which was fine with us. It turned out that we were close to the door from which the princesses all entered. We saw Aurora, Belle, Jasmine, Mulan, and Snow White. My daughter had decided to string some bead together for the princesses and gave each a little strand, according to their costumes. She took her pictures and got her autographs. I must confess I was proud of her for coming up with this little gift giving on her own.
The highlight's of the breakfast fare was the cinnamon rolls and I liked the cheese hash browns -- when they were still hot (when they were cold, they lost their taste). After we had our fill, we headed over to Test Track. True to form, we missed our path and got directions and back tracked. We could have FP the Test Track. The listed wait time without the FP was 15 minutes. It was actually about that long. We enjoyed conversing with this family on "holiday" (as our friend's said). We all ended up in a car together. My family was in the back seat. The other family was in the front. It was a very fun ride. My husband really, really liked it because it felt like a family ride to him and it was fun and somewhat educational (he's a teacher alright). From there, we went to see Figment at Journey Into Your Imagination. I was a little disappointed with the ride because, in my imaginations, this could have even been more fun. We did not stick around to play with the exhibits, may be next time.
My husband and I had decided based on our first park day (day 2 of our trip) when our daughter was scared by the Haunted Mansion, that Honey I Shrunk the Audience would not be a good match for her. So, my husband went to see that while my daughter and I went into LIving with the Land, the Circle of Life and did some kid project in that building. My husband was coming out of the show when we returned to meet him there. He thought that our daughter would not freak. So he accompanied us to see it and saw it a second time. My daughter got a little scared with the snake. Had she longer legs, I'm sure the mice scattering sensation would have freaked her out. When I asked her afterwards how it was, she said, "A little bit fun and a little bit scarey." My husband claimed he forgot about the snake part or he would have warned our daughter in advance.
From there we went to the Living Seas. It was fun to see the dolphins bobbing under water and then scooting around at the surface. After this, we went to the Garden Grill about 15 minutes early. We were first led to a table that was far from the Living with the Land ride. I told the staff that we would rather wait for a table with a better view of the ride. He suggested in the future I ask initially for that. I apologized. We hardly had to wait before such a table was available. My daughter loved meeting Mickey and Pluto and Chip and Dale. She had met them all in Animal Kingdom, except Pluto, but for some reason, meeting them here made an impresssion on her. Pluto drew a picture of a bone in a cartoon bubble with those thinking bubbles leading up to it instead of writing his name. My daughter and I were taken by that. We still talk about that. My daughter loved her dirt and mud type dessert.
From there, we managed to locate the Spaceship Earth ride. We could always see it from the skyline, of course, but we somehow ended up circling around it and came initially to the exit, etc. First timers! We enjoyed this ride together. They sat us all together. After that, my husband alone went on Mission:Space. I waited in the play area with my daughter. Unfortunately, the play area for the younger ones was closed due to a safety concern. I did not inquire about this. My daughter and I wandered among the souvenirs and struck up a conversation with a WDW groupie about her honeymoon in WDW and how she's come regularly ever since. It was fun to hang together. My husband came out, not looking green, expressing the singularlity of the ride, and how he felt like it was created to impart the sensation and experience of being in space. He loved it. In a little bit, he said he felt somewhat sick to his stomach, but it was mild. It stayed for a few hours. Still, he managed to have a mickey ice cream with us as our day winded down.
First, however, came the spontaneous mirth of the fountain in the future world area. I read the guide and Len helped me out on this, too, so I came prepared with her two piece. It was a hot, hot afternoon, so she reveled in the fountain along with some other little ones. We then went souvenir shopping for a tee shirt for my sister and a minnie and pluto to join the WDW stuffed animal family which she had begun collecting. After that, we enjoyed our mickey ice cream bars and meadered over to the International Gateway.
I thought it would be worthwhile to stop there and check our tickets at the guest services ticket booth since this would be our last time in the parks during this trip. After that, my daughter changed clothes. This took up another hour, believe it or not. We then enjoyed our boatride back to the Dolphin dock.
Once inside, I started packing us like crazy while my husband got our daughter something to eat. We ate her leftovers and supplemented it with our snacks because we weren't that hungry after two big meals.
We all wished we could stay longer, but our trip was drawing to a close.
I will tell you about our check out, too, since there may be some first timers or Dolphin fans who would like to know.
