there are so many tips i wouldn't know where to start...but, i'll start w/ make all dining ressies asap!! they do really fill early! also.... on your first day of the parks try and wake up extra early for the opening ceremonies of magic kingdom. it is sooo magical and it is our family tradition to always start our disney vacation there. our favorite restaurants include Boma, Chef mickey's, crystal palace, ohana, and le cellier. do you have the DP? i'm so excited for you!!:yay: :woohoo:

Congrats on your first trip. I will warn you that WDW is very addicting. We went for the first time in August and just could not get enough. We are going back again the end of January.

My advice as already mentioned, book your ADR's Now. Don't wait any longer. Places that are in demand such as Cinerella's Royal Banquet, Le'Cellier, Coral Reef, Chef Mickeys, and others can be very difficult to get even booked a couple of months out. In August we didn't book any until about 6 weeks out and did not have a lot of success. This time around we did get everything that we wanted.

I would also make sure that you take in the fireworks displays at both the MK and Epcot. I thought that Wishes in the MK was nice but I was absolutly blown away with IllumiNations at Epcot. Normally fireworks don't do much for me but these shows were fantastic.

:wave2: Hi, from one Michigander to another!

Welcome, you have come to the right place to get your questions answered.

There is so much information that you can learn here so you have found yourself a great place to start. One "tip" I can give you is to get your hands on a copy of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. It was my "Bible" when I planned my first Disney vacation. It has great details about all of the parks, resorts, entertainment, transportation and dining. Read it!

Walt Disney World is a huge place. Many first-time visitors are shocked at how big it is. Knowing what you are in for (besides the greatest time of your life!) will help you avoid pitfalls and get the most out of your vacation.

The last week of February is a great time to go. The weather is great (well, anything is better than Michigan in February!) and the crowds are relatively light. Check the park hours since they are sometimes shortened during the "off-season". Take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours if you are staying onsite.

I'm sure you will have many questions. Please come back to the Dis and post them. You will find that everyone here will be more than willing to share their opinions (:rolleyes1) and personal experiences with you. From getting there to getting home, everything you need to know can be answered right here.

See you soon!

:welcome: from another Michigander. The DISboard is a wealth of information, surf though all the topics and you will more the likely find answers to most of your questions. If you don't, just be sure to post in the proper topic area so the folks will find that question and help you out. :disrocks:

I will second the idea of the Unofficial Guide (no disrespect to Tourguide Mike), I have used it in the past and found it a great help.

Go to the control panel and paste the code into your signature. If those directions sound like gobbily gook, ask more questions!:confused3

Here's a third vote for the Unofficial Guide. I found, for our first trip, the best tactic was to go through that book and then come here to ask more specific questions on the things I read in there.

Welcome to the DIS! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful trip. Sending pixie dust your way!
