Well, kind of.....

DH and I went to WDW on our honeymoon 5 years ago and had a great time. Now, 5 1/2 years later we are bringing our DD for her first Disney trip....and we havent told her yet.

As soon as she goes to sleep every night, we are sitting down and planning some part of the trip. We have listed out the "Must Do Attractions/Rides" in all the parks, I just confirmed all our reservations with Disney, and am now moving on to the logistics of it all.

Here is what I am doing right now:

1. Stroller - she is 5 yrs old and there is NO way she would make it all day long walking but at 50 lbs, she is too heavy for our generic umbrella stroller. Need to find one on Craigslist or Ebay this weekend. UPDATE ALREADY (as I type this post!): My co-worker is lending me hers!!!! YEA! That saves me cash already!

2. Packing List: Hitting the stores this weekend and grabbing the toiletries (Tylenol, etc so we dont have to get that stuff at super-premium prices at the resort). Batteries too - buying lots of batteries for the camera!

3. Went to AAA this morning and got park maps, etc so we can have those before actually entering the park.

Besides these things.....any tips on how to get ready for WDW? I have been there as a kid and as an adult but not the parent of the kid!

Thanks!!! I am soooo excited!!!!!

I'd suggest bringing some snacks to have with you in the parks and in your room, and sunblock!

Have you made ADRs (advance dining reservations)? Your DD might love a character meal. Have a wonderful time!!! In addition to batteries for your camera, be sure you have enough space on your memory card. We usually bring an extra card with us just in case, even though we use cards with a lot of memory. Our first trip with DD, I think we came back with over 1000 pictures. If you think your DD will be taking lots of pictures with characters, you might want to think of pre-purchasing the photopass CD and maybe even the book. It is expensive, but considering the pictures are about $15.00 each if you order them alone, well worth it in my opinion. I've heard if you don't like the pictures when you get back, you can get a refund. I wouldn't know that personally as after edits we have wound up with hundreds of pictures after both our trips with DD. The books took me less time to make than editing the CD and we look at them all the time. They make me happy every time I see them.

I would invest in some rechargeable batteries for your camera and a charger. You can usually get a charger and the batteries for $20. They last so much longer than regular batteries.
