We just got back from a four day trip. It was our first fall trip and my parents came along and did my mother in law. It was them, me, my wife , and the stars of the show my two girls 6 and 4.
The trip started out going great. We stayed at AKL and on our first day the plan was to go swimming and then head to the MNSSHP on 9/1. We got to the hotel and ate at Boma. It was really good and we all were very hungry since we got up at 2 am to catch our flight. My wife forgot to pack the girls swim suits in the carry on so plan B was to go to Disney springs till the Party started. Well luck would have it that our one room was ready and shortly after that the luggage showed up right before we were about to leave. So swimming it was. AKL Jambo is very nice we were also upgraded to savanna views for both rooms but we only saw one or two animals all trip.
We got let into the party at 4:00 and we used our 3 fast passes and ate at a quick service. before 7 we got in line for Belle and Gaston. My 4 year old was Belle. We waited over an hour then the rain started. That lasted about 2 hours and through everything off. At this point I was so irritated I was fine with leaving and I will never attended another party. It is to reliant on the weather being good. Even with that the party was over crowed and the shortest character lines were over an hour and that was for characters that meet all the time like Belle and Ariel. They did do the two parades, the first one in the rain, and the fireworks. All three hocus pocus shows were canceled. Overall, we will never do another party. It was way over crowed. My 6 year old was Moana and it would have been great to meet her but that would have taken over two hours and that just isn't worth it. In my opinion disney needs to sell less tickets or have more characters.
The rest of the trip was great. We had some well timed dinner reservations and missed the other rain storms over the weekend. The evening safari worked out great at animal kingdom. My 6 year old loves cheetahs and we got to see some.
The notable memories were my 4 year getting autographs at chef mickeys and risked house. This is the first time for autographs and she was so excited. She couldn't stay still when the characters were about to come by. Also, my 6 year old loved HEA and sang the whole time. Everyone one standing sound us couldn't stop laughing when they announce that the show is coming to an end. She yelled "ahhhhhhh" with genuine disappointment only a child could have.
After the rain during the party I was ready not to go back to WDW. I know it rains and that is not their fault, but overall we are all spending a lot of money and any freak storm could cost us a lot. I just think it can be to risky,but then the magic started. My 4 year old loved the characters and getting autographs and my 6 year loved riding the rides Saturday night because there were no lines and me and her went on 5 rides in row after 10 pm. Also she loved the fireworks.
So it looks like disney again in December 2018 to check out Christmas!
