Just checked Southwest's fares - for us, it's $368 from LI to MCO for 2 people, which I think is really good, but, I'm waiting for JetBlue - we've never flown Southwest before and I'd rather fly JetBlue even if it's a little more.

AirTran is $190 per person and Southwest is $239 per person from Pittsburgh. I am considering AirTran on the way home since I can do onboard check in. But then they are going to charge me for checking my bags, so I feel like defeats the purpose of onboard check in.

I just checked prices from Denver. Southwest is $328.00 a person, United is $409.00 a person, and Frontier is $325.00 a person. I like Frontier but they only have one flight a day to Orlando. It does not leave till 5:25 PM. I think I will try Southwest. I priced flights from Aspen and the lowest was $618.00.:scared1: I will make the drive to denver.

For that price, I don't blame you!:drive: safely!

you don't have to spend a lot of money either- there are some good ideas and pics of prior FE gifts on the cruise board. maybe some recipe cards with some TX themed recipes that you copy or write out? Things like that don't cost much money, just time.

Great idea, it can be overwhelming to get that many gifts ready. Maybe something like that would be a great way to ease the pain.

Great ideas and I am going to check the cruise board to see what they have there. Thanks for all the info.:goodvibes

We booked Southwest, $710 round trip for 2 from San Antonio to MCO!:scared1: Unfortunately we have a credit with SW that we will lose if we don't use it by June, so we really don't have a choice at this point. Usually SW is a good deal for us, but I guess that is the time of year for higher prices. Maybe they will go down as the time gets closer and they see how many people are or rather are not flying.

The only other really good thing about SW is they offer the only nonstop flight to MCO for us; I want to take off once and when I land, know that I am where I want to be. I really dislike flying, but it is a necessary evil...

we already booked with AA, and good thing we did (out of DFW). 3 RT flights on SW would run $1200 and not even have the ideal times we want.

We got 3 RT flights on AA for $879 with the exact times we want. Even with baggage fees, AA is a bit cheaper and at least we get the flights we want, assigned seating together etc. So I guess we didn't do too bad!

We are leaving on AA at 7:45am on 5/8 Friday, so we are in disney by lunch on Friday!!! We are returning on Thursday after the cruise on a 2:05pm.

You are lucky you have a variety of choices, unfortunately San Antonio is still considered too small to have a variety of flights. Is your flight non-stop? We get there on 5/9 and leaving on 5/17. We always try to stay as long as we can, and it still never seems long enough..;)

Us too, same dates...still seems rushed doesn't it

The trick with SW is you've gotta have patience. I never book SW right when they come out. I just booked our Dec 20th flight on Dec 4th. :thumbsup2 for almost half off the original price. :goodvibes

WOW, you gotta be brave to do that!! I could never wait that long :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Wow, aren't you afraid you won't get the flight? I would have a breakdown waiting to book that close to a trip, my DH would be even worse. The good thing about SW is that if the price goes down as we get closer, we can call and get a credit for the difference. We don't mind doing that since we fly SW to WDW all the time and I always love the excuse, "But honey, we HAVE to go to WDW so we don't lose the money we have in our SW account!":rolleyes1

It seems so far away right now, yet it will be here before we know it and then be over just as fast. What a depressing thought:sad1: Okay, gotta get back to happy thoughts and enjoy the anticipation of the cruise.:goodvibes

I think it is easier to wait it out when you can drive. I know that driving from Texas would not be an option for me. Driving from Pittsburgh is not too bad (not great, but not too bad). Then you can just think...if I don't get a good flight I can drive.

I just looked and the drive from Texas is not as bad as I thought it was.

I totally agree Anne! While we don't want to drive, it wouldn't be a make or break decision for us.
