We did the DVC orientation at SSR in Oct. '07 with Andrew. DH wasn't ready to commit on the spot and once he got home and had time to think it over he said it wasn't a cost-effective move. What he doesn't realize is how WDW-obsessed I am. Helloooo.....Have you SEEN my signature?! So, unless I want to fork over my own dough, I will never be a DVC member. I haven't quite come to terms with it yet. :sad1:

Since we're posting plans...

May 5th.... driving down in our own car :drive:

May 5-10... Dolphin/Universal Studios (gotta use that FREE Universal AP before it expires....courtesy of DU!) :yay:

May 10th... Driving our own car to the port :boat:

May 14th... Driving back to Raleigh, NC :drive:

May 15th... Back to work and school

Here's what we're doing:

May 9 - Flying down? Probably, haven't gotten flight yet. Possibly renting a car, possibly using ME to Pop Century, possibly staying at Dolphin

May 10 - Possibly driving to the port, possibly going to Dolphin and taking transfers to port.

May 14 - Renting a car, possibly staying in Cocoa Beach for 1 -2 nights, possibly going to OKW, possibly staying at a different WDW resort

May 16 - moving to AKV for a week!!

May 23 - cruising to Tortola!!!

May 30 - transfers to airport through DCL or renting a car, flying home??

That is too bad. If you go on vacation regularly or want to go on vacation regularly DVC is a great way to go. We started out with 200 points and are up to 1400 now and it is still not enough! We booked the 10-night Med and the westbound TA back to back and it cost a toatal of $180 for the two of us for both cruises. Gotta love that DVC.;) :goodvibes

Ok! That's scary.
We just bought 160 BLT
We just added another 120 BLT.
You say 1400 and that's still not enough. WOW!!!
It's the airfare that's the killer though.
Would love to go to disney several times a year.
By Dec./09 we figure we will have spent $5500. in airfare alone for the 3 trips.
TSM, Cruise, Dec. Vacation.
We usually only get to go to disney once a year.
That can suck, because when it's over you have to wait a whole year to get back to the happiest place on earth.

Is this the secret to getting DH to buy into DVC?! :woohoo:

Truth be told, I was ready to buy DVC back in 1995. My then husband wanted no part of a "time-share." Fast forward to 2004, I was starting to reseach DVC again since the husband was long gone from the picture. I did my research and knew that there would be Agents on the Magic. Got on the ship, made an Appt to speak to Sue Schell and well, walk off the ship owning 200 SSR pts, sight unseen. One add-on later, I have not looked back.

Me and Mr. Microphone got a much needed divorce.
:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I just don't think AskTracy wants us to know where she's staying until she's sure we've all gone home! :lmao:

I'm re-reading Twilight now. I'm at the part where they're in the hotel room and she got the call from her "mom". I keep yelling...Bella No!!! Don't!!!! Oddly enough, she's not taking my advice...

In order for me to be able to purchase my own 160 pts. (or more for BLT) I would have to go without a WDW vacation (or ANY other vacation for that matter) for 3 years or so. I could be struck by lightening in 3 years. No way I'm gonna live out my last days without WDW! Anyone done without in order to buy DVC? Trust me, every time I book a vacation, I think how the money I'm spending could be going towards my DVC membership. I was SO looking forward to BLT, too.

Tracy, I'm not sure if it's comforting to know that you are as unsure as I am about your plans, or if I'm scared because I thought you knew all and were sure of everything. :)

we're sitting with 210 and we're heading down for our very first trip home since we bought in 2007

we have adonitis but have to wait until we finish paying off the 210 before we add on.l

Not all are during the cruise. Some before, some after. I didn't include our anniversary because it's closer to the cruise after that one, though still in the same month, but I'm considering celebrating DHs birthday (April 26).

Your DH and I share a birthday! :)

No! Read Midnight Sun online first. popcorn::

By all means, I hope this is what you decided to do. I wish I had read them that way. Then, once you get into New Moon, stay determined. Don't get too depressed and bogged down in the middle. The end is worth the struggle.

Eclipse is my favorite, personally.

Heck. I might re-read Midnight Sun tonight. Edward's point of view is just so... so... :lovestruc
