Okay...I've crawled out of my cave for just a few minutes and want to thank all you for your "well-wishes" about my new status as a DU Agent. I am super excited! It will take about 500 years to have the knowledge "AskTracy" has in one little finger -- but I'll get there.

Totally O/T:
I never did find my son an afro last night, but did luck out and find a really cool black tye-die looking Jimi Hendrix t-shirt at Target (of all places!), so he wore that and tied a bandana around his head. What his class did was really cool, they were called Suitcase Biographies. Basically each student got to choose their own subject, then they were required to do research and write a report.

In conjunction with it they had a classroom presentation where they had to dress like their character and bring in an old suitcase that had at least 15 "artifacts" that related to their subject. They set up long tables and each student had their suitcase open with the artifacts numbered, and stood behind the table as parents went from student to student asking how the artifacts were related to their subject and why they chose them.

They all turned out really great. I never got to do anything fun like that when I was in school!!!

Yay!!!! I have good news.....we will not have to cancel the cruise after all. Thanks to all of those who sent their well wishes, it really meant a lot to me.

CRTC...Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission
They make the rules on our Canadian Content for radio and television.

These are the same wonderful people who decided that musicians who record/write music with International persons no longer fit "Canadian" criteria for radio airplay. Bryan Adams in the '80's, Celine Dion, Shania Twain - no longer qualify as Canadian Content.

These are the same people who created our "Do Not Call" list for those who do not wish to be bothered by telemarketers, then sold parts of the list to American telemarketing companies. American companies can't be held to follow the rules of the CRTC...they can use the list to call people.



I wouldn't expect anything logical/responsive to the public from this group.

I have something that is totally (not that there is much in this thread on topic....)

As of today, we become a single income household. DP is worried about being a mooch and feeling useless. Does anybody have anything I can tell him or have him do that won't make him feel like that? I have a short list of odd jobs around the house, but that will only last so long....

Tell him he's not a mooch.
He's your partner though good and bad ups and downs.

DP loves his iPhone. AT&T isn't too bad here in Michigan. Its comparable to my Sprint. Never had Verizon, so I don't know what it is like.

Are there any other Type 1 diabetics going on the Podcast cruise??
I know Pete said something a few weeks ago about him being freshly diagnosed, but I am thinking he is a type 2.

And on a even longer shot....any body else have an insulin pump???

I don't have diabeties but travel frequently with my best friend who uses an insulin pump. She isn't the best at "reading the signs" so I have become proficient at helping out a few times.

I am so pleased with this thing it's silly. The ATSC HD tuners in it are so much better than my old DirecTV HD Tivo. I was able to pull in all the Boston local stations previously but now I can get both Providence, RI and Manchester, NH. A total of 30 digital channels!

I'm getting rid of DirecTV today or tomorrow. I wanted to go to FiOS but it's not on my street until sometime during the summer. Comcast is the other option but I'd prefer FiOS. So for 6 months I'll be OTA only with a $13 month Tivo fee and saving the $80 per month DirecTV fee. We might even decide to just stay on OTA stations and be happy with that.

What's OTA?? Could you dumb this down cause it sounds interesting?!
